Ace had already put the photos of the mare who the room had belonged to away when he heard a knock He quickly awnsered it knowing who it was "Yes max?" He said softly as he opened the door
"Um, I don't want you getting the wrong idea or anything, but... can I stay with you tonight?" She asked, wiping her eyes and sniffing a bit. "I just don't want to be alone." She added, sadly.
Ace sighed and lead her to the bed He began to take of his cloths exept for his tank top and shorts and got into the bed When she got in the bed he tried not to think about what it would be like to cuddle the smaller mare
Max left her clothes on, comforted somewhat by her mother's coat, and was soon asleep. (Yup, see you later :3 )
It took a lot longer for ace to fall asleep so to pass time he listened to her slow breathing and fell asleep -ts-
Max woke up early the next morning, and saw that Ace was still asleep. She sat and watched him sleep for a moment, still not sure how she felt about him, but didn't try to wake him this time, remembering how he had reacted the day before. She got out of bed quietly, and headed into the bathroom. She shut the door, and ran the shower whilst she took off her coat and jumpsuit; the coat looked okay, but the jumpsuit was pretty filthy from being worn four days straight, and was covered in dried blood on the leg and shoulder. She looked at it and wrinkled her nose, deciding that she would try and clean it before putting it back on. Dropping it in a heap, she stepped into the shower, amazed that there was still a functioning, hot, shower left in the wasteland. She started washing the dirt and dried blood from her coat and mane, and before long started to sing, softly.
ace woke suddenly like he had the other day only without lashing out at anypony...mainly cause nopony was around he sat up strait gasping and quickly checked his chest by tanking his tank top off (no holes....just a dream...not a memory) he thought tossing his head back on the pillow (maybe its post traumatic stress disorder) he thought remembering seeing a vetren who freaked out every time he saw an areion (i was in a war...may not remember most of it but i was) once he settled his mind his ears picked up some beautiful singing "max?" he said getting up and walking to the closed door to listen better
"Uh, just a minute!" Max called, a little embarrassed that Ace had heard her singing. She finished her shower and towelled herself down, then wrapped the towel around her mane, and put on her white coat over her damp fur. She picked up her rolled up jumpsuit with her magic before opening the door. "Morning!" She said, brightly, feeling a lot better than she had yesterday. "Sorry about using your shower, I just felt really gross."
"your fine...and you didnt have to stop....i just wanted to know if that was you that was singing" he said smiling "cause it was really good" he then saw that she was half naked and looked away blushing "um...could you button up your coat please"
Max blushed a little at the compliment. "You're kind to say so, but I'm not that good; I only do it because I enjoy it." She was a little confused by his second comment though; she seemed to remember that before the bombs, ponies rarely wore clothes; did he still not remember? "You're wearing less than I am," She pointed out, seeing that he was only wearing boxers. "Besides, my jumpsuit's filthy; I need to launder it before I put it back on."
ace did remember but he had also remembered that it was celestia's spell over the country that made it to where ponies could walk around naked...he had no idea if she was alive keeping the spell going or if the spell didnt need to be refreshed he didnt want to take the chance and all of a sudden see her marehood so he still didnt look
Max rolled her eyes and shook her head, smiling at Ace's behavior. "You know, you're going to bump into something if you walk around like that," She said, jokingly as she started walking towards the door. "I'm going to try and get my jumpsuit clean; if you need to find me or talk to me, you should be able to track me and communicate through your Pipbuck," She added, just before leaving the room.
Max continued to hum a little tune as she searched. She looked at the floor plan, and saw that the laundry was on the first floor, so she made her way there. The room was full of clean towels, sheets and patient robes, all stacked neatly on shelves, and held about twenty washing machines. Max stuffed her jumpsuit into the nearest one, and turned it to the most intense wash setting. 40 minutes showed on the little screen. Guess Ace will just have to put up with looking at my coat until then, She thought to herself, with a bit of a smile, then headed upstairs to find him again.
ace had put his duster on by the time she got to the open door he gave her a big smile before seeing her lack of cloths making him blush and look away
Max tutted and shoved his shoulder playfully. "Stop being so silly! Even if walking around like this was out of the ordinary, you shouldn't be embarrassed by the natural pony form. Besides; it's not like I'm walking around totally nude." She still didn't get it; ponies in her Stable used to walk around naked all the time, they even had communal showers!
Ace sighed "sorry....it just.....dosnt seam normal....like in the back of my head it says it's not right" he told her still not looking "and I'm not embarised by your form....just...in every memory I've seen every pony is wearing full clothing....so I figured it's not right to be nude" he told her hoping he was making sence
Max sighed, defeated. "Fine. Is there a wardrobe or anything in your room? Mine belonged to a stallion..."
ace gave her a warm smiled thankful she understood how he felt about it he then walked over and pointed to the dresser that was near the bed "well mine was owned by a mare so go right ahead"
