Alakesh looked terrified at the scene. The boy, ni, why the boy?! No! This was not right! He wanted to go and save him, butbit was too late. The civilians all had been killed. He then moved his hirse back. "Lets get out of here..." he said to Finn and Leah. The three were the only survivors for now.
The citizens had put up a hell of a fight, but in the end, they were almost all cut down. Those who survived learned a very important lesson. The Atlanteans weren't gods or demons. They were mortal men... and they could be killed. At the Atlantean forces swept across Europe, the seeds of resistance were being sown. Finn, using stolen weapons, had killed dozens of the bastards. He had personally helped no less than a hundred people escape the slaughter. It hadn't been enough. Too many had died because he'd tried to make a point. He stood inside the church, watching as the majority of the soldiers marched onward. Only a small handful remained to gather their own dead. He turned to the man and woman who were still with him, and tossed an Atlantean pistol to each. "Ten left. We'll kill them, an' 'en we'll tak' every magic weapon we can fin'."
She took the pistol and looked at it. "Maybe if we can capture a ship,we might be able to find something that'll bring up our gear to the level of an Atlantean weapon. But the only problem with that,we would have to take down every soldier on the ship,including the captain. Which won't be easy. But it'll be worth it when we're fighting them off with a mere shield that's been fused with the power of Atlantean tech."
Finn shrugged, and kicked open the church door. In less than a minute, the dozen Atlanteans left behind to gather their dead were, themselves, dead. "We coods also jist tak' their weapons." He walked outside and began gathering the gear of the hundred fallen Altanteans and tossing it into a wagon. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
Alakesh looked arond for a weapon he could use. He found one similar to his rapier and took it. It was way lighter and stronger. He smirked at that. "We should take a ship to be able to fight them. I kbow where to get crew for it." He said to the other two
Finn finished gathering weapons and hitched a pair of strong horses to the wagon. He then covered the weapons with a sailcloth and climbed into the seat. "Leid th' way."
"I'll just hop into the back." She sat on top of the cloth but quickly looked under the cloth and found some Atlantean gear matching hers. "Well yeah I guess... but who knows...our weapons might end up stronger than Atlantean geat if we find the best gear possible and fuse em with the tech.just saying."
Finn sighed. "An' hoo woods we dae 'at? Thes weapons ur sae far beyond anythin' I've ever seen 'at Aam nae sure it isnae magic!" Finn knew that nobody in the known world would be able to do what the girl proposed. Most people couldn't even read or write, much less handle technology that was centuries ahead of its time.
(Ridley,I can hardly understand Finns accent...mind dialing it down a bit? I can barely understand anything.)"Well I thought it was a good idea..."
After a moment of getting ready, Alakesh took them to a nearby town where his crew was stationed. "My men are in the bar most likely, I will go and talk to them, I'll be back." he said, then walked into the bar. The town was small, but it had various shops to resupply if needed.
Finn headed for the church. The priest greeted him as he walked in. "You look troubled, my son. Are you here for confession?" Finn shook his head. "Nae, Faither. Aam sorry tae say 'at i've a stoatin deal ay sinnin' yit tae dae the-day. Ah pray 'at God understands wa Ah dae these things, but I'll accept mah damnation if it be His will." How many Commandments had he broken? He had killed dozens of Atlanteans. He had even stolen from their corpses. He had sinned, to be sure, but he had done so for the right reasons. Finn said a prayer for the deceased, lit a candle, and left without another word.
The Atlantians advanced across Europe and Northern Africa, reports saying that they are heading along the Mediterranean Sea like a wildfire. Reports began to surface that Morocco and Tunisia were absolutely steam-rolled with almost no effort, now putting the most eastern Atlantian territory to border Egypt, while giving them the perfect vantage point to stage their assault onto Southern Italy. Ireland was also supposedly wiped out, with ships now advancing on Scotland while the Irish Atlantians prepared to invade England from launching an assault in Wales to establish a foothold. Many Europeans some countries actually defected to the Atlantians, fighting against their own kinsman after seeing the Atlantians as liberators. Tens of thousands in France actually revolted against the King of France, causing wide-spread chaos almost everywhere and weakening the nation significantly. By the time that Atlantian ships arrived at Bordeaux, they were welcomed as heroes without having to raise their weapon once. But the worst was yet to come, as the Atlantians didn't only bring their military might to Europe. But a disease that would bring all of Western Civilization to it's knees.
"So...does anyone have a plan on how we're gonna steal an Atlantean ship?" Leah said as Finn left the church.
Finn thought for a moment. "We hae weapons fur fifty men an' we'll suin hae a crew. Let's gab tae th' bishop." Finn had done a great many favors for the Church over the years, and had amassed a great deal of credit with Rome. It was time to call in some of that debt. First, they'd need a ship. Any ship would do. The local bishop would provide them with the coin they'd need to buy one. That was step one.
The Kingdom of France, as powerful as it was, ceased to exist within just a few mere hours. Ireland and Portugal was gone, along with the North African kingdoms all the way to Egypt. The Atlantians were just about to completely overrun Spain, having demolished Portugal within shocking speed. No news came from the British Isles, but it has been assumed that they were conquered all the same. Then humans began to drop dead like flies, as a plague spread across Atlantian-Occupied Europe and into highly populated areas such as Germany and Italy. Having virtually no immunity to the arrival of a seemingly alien plague, the Europeans and Africans never stood a chance as populations were wiped out as much as 90%, especially in Western Europe. And the plague continued to spread rapidly, heading East to Russia, the Balkans, The Middle East and the rest of Afro-Eurasia.
After a while, Alakesh walked out. "Done. I... convinced them, to help us. I have a small ship we can use. Still, we will need a bigger one if we want to survive." He said as he grabbed his rapier and the similar atlantian weapon.
Finn nodded. Having a ship ready meant they wouldn't need to ask for one, and it preserved his credit with the church. Time for the next step. "We're goin' tae Rome. Dress fancy, coz yoo're gonnae meit th' Pope." The trip to Rome would take about three weeks, which would hopefully be enough time for the storyline to get back in order. Seriously, it's a little ridiculous that all of this is happening on the first day. We've got all the time in the world. Slow it down a bit.
(I think my insanity levels are showing. I'll slow down...) With the storyline back in order, time reversed to the point when the Atlantians were landing the other invasion fleets in the British Isles, France and Morocco. After taking Portugal, the Atlantians were preparing to invade the Spanish kingdoms of Castile, Aragon, Navaree and the last Muslim kingdom on the Iberian Peninsula, the Emirate of Granada. If the Atlantians were to take all of the Iberian Peninsula, and Morocco, the Strait of Gibraltar would have been theirs, rendering all seaborne trade, travel and overall accessibility out of the Mediterranean impossible with a naval blockade by the Atlantians. Once the strait was held, the Atlantians would have held some serious leverage over the coastal nations of the Mediterranean. And if this happened, this would be a serious blow to the supply lines.
(I'm sorry everyone... my WiFi had been down for 2 days and a technician finally fixed it.)"We're going to Rome?! WOOHOO! Uh...what do Roman people dress in?"
"Rome?" Alakesh said after a moment. Ugh, great. Religious people. He disliked religions, most of them, but he had a special hatred against catolic and cristian church because of the crusades. "Alright. I will try not to kill anyone on there." he said sighing as he got ready to leave to his ship and sail to Rome.
