"Well... now we try and make sure she doesn't die," Max said, concentrating on the mare. She stripped the rest of the mare's torso, and gently tipped her on her side. "Can you hold her up, while I close the exit wound?" She asked, looking to Ace.
his horn glowed as he held her up the mares breathing got ragged for a moment as she coughed up a bit of blood
Using one of the autodoc's inspection tools, Max determined that the bullet had torn a hole through one of her lungs, so she used her magic to slowly rebuild the damaged organ before closing up the exit wound. "Okay, you can lay her back down now," Max said, wiping some sweat from her brow. Now for the damage to the front of her chest...
Max pulled out a few splinters of bone and bullet, carefully cut away any damaged tissue, then finished healing the wound with her magic. The mare's coat was gone where the wound was, and the flesh underneath was raw and pink, so Max wrapped bandaged around her, covering the would on her chest and back. She checked the sedative hadn't worn off, then turned to Ace. "She's mostly out of danger now, but to minimise the risk of infection, I'm going to strip off her filthy armour, wash her as best I can, and then put her in a clean gown. After that she'll need at least a day's bed rest before we try and wake her up. I know how you feel about seeing ponies without any clothes on, but this is important; will you help me?"
Ace felt like this would be different then seeing max naked...but he didn't know why (Maybe cause you like her) he thought to himself "Yes I'll help" he said getting closer now that the young mares body was patched up
Max smiled a little. "Thank you, Ace." She removed the rest of the mare's clothes and put them all in a box, to be cleaned or destroyed later, then slid the mare carefully back onto the stretcher. She wheeled it over to the side of the room, where there was a sink and a cupboard full of antiseptic cleaning agents. She gave Ace a bottle of shampoo and a brush. "Can you wash her mane?" She asked, as she set about cleaning the grime and blood off the mare's coat.
brave walked up to the brown mare and began brushing her blue mane, being sure to untangle it as he went about half way thru his first stoke he stopped and staired at ponies hair as he remembered something
Max had only just started cleaning the mare's coat, and the water in her bowl was already filthy. When did this mare last wash? She paused for a moment as she noticed Ace had stopped. "Is something wrong?" She asked, a little concerned.
ace shook his head "ya im... im fine but i think i just remembered my sister" he told her as he started to brush the mares mane again
"You have a sister?" Max asked, looking at him in surprise for a moment, before remembering what she was meant to be doing, and cleaning some more of the mare's coat. "Do you remember her name?"
"sadly no....i never said her name in the memory, only that i was brushing her mane for something" he explained."and that she and/or i lived in canterlot before the bombs" he continued
"Canterlot?" Max thought for a moment, and finished cleaning the mare's coat. "Maybe we can head to Canterlot at some point," She suggested, putting a clean gown on the mare. "There might be something there that will help you remember, or maybe we will even find her?"
ace smiled then frowned "i dont think that will happen for a vary long time max......canterlot was our capital so even if its still standing i will be surrounded by too much radiation to even get close" he said not knowing that that was not the case with the majestic and now deadly city
"But the Princesses were there; they would have protected it, wouldn't they?" Max said, thinking about it. "I mean, of all the cities in Equestria, it was probably the best protected!" She hadn't thought about it until now, but it suddenly seemed obvious; if there was still civilisation to be found, it would surly be in the Princesses' seat of power! "Once this mare has recovered, we'll go and check it out," She decided, excited by the possibility of an intact city. "But for know, let's get her to a room, let her rest a while."
"Oh, yes... I suppose you're right," Max said, a little sadly, as she lead him out of the operating room, and down the corridor to one of the recovery rooms. It was quite close to their private rooms, so they would be able to hear the mare if she awoke. "Well, what if we found protective suits?" Max suggested as they pushed the mare into the room, "There must be some somewhere in this town."
"maybe...i dont really know" he said putting the cart next to the bed and gently lifted her onto the clean bed and rolled the stretcher away and out the door "but we should probably eat, its should be around noon by now"
"Alright," Max said, suddenly realising how hungry she was. "There's a canteen downstairs, I think; there must be food there." She locked the door to the mare's room, as much for her own safety as theirs; she didn't want her waking up confused, then doing something stupid and getting shot by the security system.
ace smiled and followed her out and waited next to her he wanted to know if she had decided wether she liked him or not but he wasnt about to ask
Max hugged Ace. "Thank you Ace; I know that wasn't easy for you, but I couldn't have done it without you." She let him go, and smiled. "Now let's go and find something to eat, shall we?"
