ace smiled and got up "so...how was she still alive?" he asked walking thru the doorway and waiting in the hall for her
"She has a rare genetic defect that resulted in her heart being on the wrong side of her body," Max explained, a little embarrassed about being wrong earlier. "She's a very lucky mare, all things considered," She said, as they headed upstairs to the third floor.
"so the true question is....who shot her, cause i was aiming for heads and, no offense, im not sure your that good with a rifle" he said as they entered the elevator and pressed the third floor button
Max shrugged. "It could have been ricochet, or just chance; all it takes is one angry shot..." The elevator opened and she headed towards the room they had left the mare in.
Max checked through the window before unlocking the door; the mare seemed to be where they left her... She went into the room and did a few quick checks, testing responses to stimuli, and adjusting sedation accordingly. She removed the old bandages, and redressed the wound then turned to Ace, happy that she'd done all she could for now. "She's doing as well as could be expected; she should be ready to wake tomorrow."
Max went to her room, to pick up her things, and change back into her jumpsuit and coat, before finally heading to Ace's room. She left her few possessions in a pile by the door and looked at him. "So... now what?"
he sat on the couch and chose a random book as he put a hoof to his side to put around her if she sat next to him
he flipped a page as he pulled her close so part of his chest and his side was touching her side and back "um.....how to make medecine with magic....huh...i didnt know you could do that" he said flipping more pages relieving that it was a draft, not a published book
"Well where did you think healing potions came from, silly?" Max asked, smiling and enjoying being close to Ace. "It's one of the first things medical unicorns get taught."
Max nodded. "It just involves condensing the essence of the medical spell into a physical form. That's why they make us practice them as fillies and colts; they can see how effective our healing magic is without us having to perform it on a live subject." She snuggled against him a bit more as she explained.
Max turned around a little to look at Ace as they cuddled. "I'm still hoping one of the machines here will be able to help you with that." She said smiling reassuringly. "Maybe when our patient is better, I'll look into it properly."
Max melted a little at the feel of his hot lips on hers, and she leaned against him a bit more, closing her eyes.
ace leaned back letting her lay on him as they made out his heart felt like it was light as a feather and everywhere they're fur connected it felt like an electric current
Max pulled back from Ace's lips for a moment, and rested her head on his chest, listening to his heart. "You're such a good pony, Ace..." She said, softly, nuzzling his chest.
