Jay looked up "Your sharing food?" "Ya we got plenty, here" h ace said leveraging the plate to her "Th-thanks" she said looking down at her food, a sad expression on her face
"No I'm fine, it's just......no ponies ever gave me food, I've always had to fight for it or find my own" she said a tear falling into her food
Max gave a tissue and put a hoof on her shoulder. "I know, but we're trying to make it so ponies don't have to do that anymore."
Jay turned and gave max a full hug as she started to cry Ace sat there kicking at the ground, not knowing what to do right then
Max blinked, then patted Jay on the back, a little awkwardly. "It's... it's okay..." She said, sitting on the edge of the bed as Jay hugged her, waiting for her to stop crying.
After a few minutes jay pulled back and rubbed her hoof over her eyes and lifted a bit of food "Thank you so much " she said before she started to scarf down her food like she hadn't are in days Ace stood there waiting and gave her a warm smile before turning to max
Max smiled at Ace, before turning back to Jay, who was still ravenously devouring the tray of food. "I just have a few questions to ask you," Max said, pulling out a clipboard and a pen. "How do you feel now? Any pain anywhere? Headaches? Nausea?"
She shook her head before swallowing "Just my chest, but you took care of that" she said before returning to her food Ace's shoulders shook from his silentl laugh before he moved to the chair to sit
Max glanced at Ace, giving him a bit of a look before turning back to Jay. "Are you allergic to anything, that you know of?" She asked, after noting her answer to the previous question down.
Ace shrugged his shoulders and gave her a confused look, not knowing what he did that could be wrong Jay stopped eating again "If I am I don't know it, although I absorb radiation easily, cause I was getting moderate radiation sickness when my companions were only getting minor
Max nodded, and took a note. "Okay, well that shouldn't have any affect on our treatments..." She went over her notes, then took Jay's temperature. "You should be fully recovered by tomorrow morning." She paused for a moment. "It's not medically relevant, but do you remember why you were shot?"
"Um....we were shooting some ponies for fun, I don't like doing it but If I don't they would shoot me" She said "One of us shot the female but the male had stopped her so it wasn't fatal" she then took a sip of her water "so we kept shooting but the male was better then any of us and took us out.....and apperently me" she said looking down sadly before perking up again "But that's ok cause I'm with you to now" she said smiling
"I see..." It was as she'd feared; she was one of the ponies who'd been shooting at them. Part of her had wanted to believe, as ridiculous as it was, that she was an unrelated casualty of some other act of violence... "Well finish you meal, and call us if you need anything," She said, before nodding to Ace, and leaving the room.
Ace got up and walked out with her His smile had left and he wasn't looking up He obviously felt bad about shooting the sweet and friendly mare
"I feel bad for shooting her...she obviously didn't want to hurt us then and dosnt now" he said before walking to her and hugging her "She we tell her who we are?"
Max hugged him back as she thought about it, her leg throbbing painfully where it'd been shot. "You shouldn't feel bad," She said, sighing, "it was self-defence; every one of the ponies we shot were shooting at us. I think it's only right we tell her though; she knows now that we mean her no harm, and lying to her is bound to come back to haunt us..."
Ace smiled and hugged tighter "I still feel bad....even if not as much" he then stepped back "should we tell her now?"
"Let's give her an hour to finish eating," Max decided, nodding thoughtfully. "But what can we do until then?"
