"Another reason to hurry then," Max said, wrinkling her nose as she looked around nervously; they were out in the open there, and there were a lot of windows. Her right foreleg tingled.
It didn't take long Soon they were walking out, ace was pushing a wheel barrel of what he needed "So dose the furnace work at the hospital?" Jay asked
"The incinerator is hot enough to burn bones, it should have no problem melting metal," Max said, remembering some of her Stable science lessons.
"Ok I ment for heating....cause winter is coming up" she said Ace pulled up his military pipbuck Looking at the date
"Oh," Max said, blushing a bit. "Well the hospital should have heating talismans, but I'm not sure if they're still working," She admitted. She and Ace hadn't gotten around to looking at them yet.
Ace shook his head "well we need to figure it out soon....unless we want to cuddle for warmth" he said (Of corse I'd be cuddling max anyways) he thought smiling at the mental image
"Well, lets just get back first," Max said, smiling slightly. They knew the way back pretty well by now, and aside from the wheel falling off the wheelbarrow and having to be jury rigged by Ace, there were no problems on the way back to the hospital. "I'm going to go and get rid of my bags and stuff," She said, once they were inside. "We can decide what to do after that."
Ace smiled "ok I'll be in the basement working on the armor Jay stood there "I guess I'll put my stuff away
"I'll be down in a little while," Max said, kissing Ace's cheek, before heading upstairs with Jay, to put stuff in their rooms.
Ace smiled and kissed maxs cheek before heading down Jay and max got in one of the other elevators and sat there Jay then leaned agenst max as she closed her eyes
Max wrapped a hoof around Jay as she leant against her, and closed her eyes too, gently cuddling her, and only opening them when the elevator doors opened on the third floor.
Jay smiled as she was held Once they were on the third floor Jay stood up and headed to her room and put her stuff away
Max put her bags and guns away, then took off her jumpsuit, so that Ace could armour it for her. She put her doctor's coat on over her otherwise-naked body, before rolling up the jumpsuit, and heading downstairs with it to find Ace.
Jay was waiting by the elevator for max with the coltheart coat and a pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt
"Ready?" Max asked, smiling at Jay as they stepped into the elevator. "Maybe whilst Ace is working on our armour, I could start teaching you about medicine, if you want?" She offered, hoping that Jay could put her past behind her, and that she could help her forge a new future healing ponies, by her side.
Jay pressed the button then leaned agenst max "I would love to" she said as she closed her eyes Ace had started to hear the mettle so he could cut and bend it easily But he was thinking about jay He felt like jay was too young to be out here without parents (I'll ask max about it when were alone) he thought
Max put a hoof around Jay's shoulders, a little awkwardly, as they sat in the elevator. She wasn't really used to ponies being so personal with her; she'd grown up in the Stable without her mother and father, and had few memories of them, and her job as Stable doctor made it hard to form any real relationships. "I'm sure you'll be a natural," she said, brightly, as they headed down. Once the elevator reached the basement, they went to find Ace.
Jay smiled as she was held She had been ripped away from her parents as a foal so she had never known them But these ponies were the nicest and most protecting she had met so she let herself just enjoy there comfort Ace was waiting with the mettle for them when they entered "So this is what you want armored?" He asked wanting to make sure Jay nodded and handed him the clothes
Max hesitated a little before passing him her jumpsuit; as terrible as it was, she did have some good memories of her life in the Stable, and the jumpsuit was all she had left to remind her of that. "Just, be careful?" She asked, pleadingly, "And try not to make them too heavy," she added, remembering being weighed down by his black coat. She'd like to have the option of running, if necessary.
He took it and kissed her "I'll be careful......ok" he said as he started working Jay then turned to max waiting for her to start heading back to the elevator
