"At approximately 11:45am, the Oslonian capital of Borovir was destroyed in an act of nuclear terrorism. Downtown Borovir and neighboring suburbs have been completely destroyed when extremists detonated a fission-based 100 kiloton thermonuclear warhead in the highly populated city center, compact and disguised inside of a large suitcase in the middle of a hotel. Over 250,000 fatalities have already been confirmed with over a million injured from the blast damage alone. With all major hospitals destroyed in the city center, along with the spread of radiation and fires along the capital, the death-toll is expected to rise significantly. The attack has also claimed the life of Oslonian President, Spiridon Cherepanov, who was inside of the Presidential Limo and was scheduled to meet with the Barret President before the attack took place. The motivation for the attack is currently unknown, but the attack was claimed by the terrorist group "7 Wonders", a rogue military defection unit from Tyranius. Tyranius has not made any official statement, although it's been reported that the socialist nation is mobilizing on the border. Oslonian authorities believe this to be an "Act of War", and are already mobilizing their forces. Various representatives of nations are meeting in Calfaria to discuss the dangers of nuclear terrorism, and the prospect of a global war..."
War, war never changes. No one knows what happened or why, but at 11:50, news were arriving to the public of a nuclear attack to one of the closest nations to the U.S.I, Oslon. The capital, Borovir, was attacked by terrorists that named themselves the 7 wonders, a rouge military group according to official reports announced to the public... "On the latest news, the King, Seliph Baldos, has sent a message to the world that he expresses his condolences to the people of Oslon, and that has opened the borders of our great Union to refugees and people in need of a safe place to stay after their home had been destroyed and are afraid of a posible war, as well as the death of their president Spiridion Cherepanov. The king also stated that he would do what he can to bring the culprits and terrorist into jus-" The sound of a television turning off sounded. Erebor. The white city of wonders, most known by it's technological advancement and most beautiful urban views, having a south western (Japanese in our world) style of architecture. The city was the biggest one of the whole Union, and perhaps the most advanced city in the world, where people lived in fancy houses and used the help of drones and some robots made for home usage that helped with every day life. Almost all the country had a really good style of life and a low level of poverty since the low population led to a vast amount of jobs available, but it had too much that they started allowing students to come to the Union to study or work, even both. Inside the royal palace, the king, Seliph, was having a conference with the members of the government, like the first minister, the minister of defense, and several generals and public relationships. "I think that worked pretty well..." Said the prime minister, who was also Seliph's best friend, as he let down the control of the TV after turning it off. They were watching the national news since it gave the report of the announcement the king made. Seliph was standing beside the window, looking at his city. His country. "Yes. It has my friend, but we must be ready, we don't know what they plan. We must be ready for the worst. I think a war is coming." He said sighing. He was wearing his usual clothes, as well as his katana. "Get the fabrics up and running, we need our armed forces to defend ourselves." he said calmly as he sat on his chair. "That the refugees are sent into the continental area of the Union, it is the area with more space to have them." He said the minister of public relationships. The minister nodded and left the room quickly to give the new orders. He then stood up as soon as a man came into the room. "The plane is ready my king." The man said as he made a small bow. "Alright. Lets go..:" Seliph said to his best friend. They went to the airport and take his flight to Calfaria.
The news was received quickly within the mountain city of Boria. President Harlon Jakobs knew he was needed to show that Kevoria was in support of of catching these terrorist, and that no diplomat or representative would have the words he had to say on the matter. Troops were already being put on the defensive, focusing making sure no terrorist threat could sneak its way into the crowded cities to try. One nuclear explosion within the cites would not only cripple the nation, but put a strain on the world supply of rare metals. Jakobs marched through corridors and onto the the interior of the airstrip that lead out of the mountain into the air. His usual entourage of security, secretaries, and badgering press close behind. Various questions were shouted out through the crowd. "How will you respond to this terrorist attack?" "Will Kevoria go on the offensive and hunt down the 7 Wonders Terrorist group?" "Do you feel confident that Kevoria should be involved on foreign affairs?" He simply tuned them out as marched up to his presidential jet, the flight coordinator saluting to him as boarded. "All gassed up and ready, sir. Flight to Calfairia will take only about a couple hours, depending on air traffic. We can be wheels up in less than five on your word." Jakobs looked out as the boarding ladder pulled with the last staff shuffling in, the press still trying to get what last information than can before the cabin door was closed. He turned back to the flight coordinator. "World isn't going to save itself, let's get going." Jakobs said, moving to his seat as the coordinator nodded and ordered for take off.
13:00, One hour and fifteen minutes after the attack. Albatross' Landing, Commodore's Quarters. A hologram image projected from Commodore Cobiah Seatone's desk. "Oceanus has already mobilized their medics, nuclear engineers and soldiers to provide humanitarian aid to Oslon, whose capital was destroyed in a thermonuclear explosion. The culprits are known only as Seven Wonders, a rogue military unit from Tyranius. The motives are currently unknown. Commodore Cobiah Seatone, and his First Mate Jack Gunwale, are expected to make an appearance at a emergency summit in Calfaria. ONN newscaster, Isaye Haven, bringing you more news as it comes." "RING RING RING." The hologram switched displays, this time showing a portrait of Cobiah's First Mate, Jack Gunwale. He tapped a button on his desk, answering the call. "Commodore Seatone, where the hell are you? Boats to Calfaria are ready. Ye need to get down here, mate!" "Of course, Gunwale. I'll be there in a minute. Finalizing some preparations." Seatone switched off his holo projector, and put on his grandfather's leather sailing coat. He opened up a compartment in his desk, and took out a handgun and a cutlass, holstering the pistol in his coat, and sheathing the sword on his belt. Anybody who was big in the world would be there, seems like a great time for another attack. Never can be too safe. Cobiah arrived at the docks a short time later, and stepped aboard the Dorian, the council's personal escort ship. It was surrounded by a small fleet of destroyers, submarines, and two aircraft carriers, to ensure the Commodore, and of course, everyone else at the meeting's safety. On the deck of the Dorian, lines of sailors and marines alike saluted Cobiah and Jack as they walked by. The head engineer approached Cobiah. "Sir, the research has paid off! With the new engines outfitted on this escort detail, we will arrive in Calfaria in two to three hours!" "Excellent. Start those up, and let's get sailing."
Tiberiionus was meeting with his imperstiis (Generals) when they recieved the news of the nuclear attack. Quickly weighing his options, he ended the meeting and assembled a press meeting to be held in the half hour. He figured to go to the nation would be foolish due to a possible "bee to honey" scenario where the terrorists would launch a coordinated strike at all the national leaders coming to the hurt nation. At the press conference, he expressed condelences to those killed or injured in the tradegy and that whomever was responsible should be brougbt to justice as swiftly as possible.
The Caudelian Chancellor was already in Calfairia, having already been in talks with their own president about a joint trade-agreement when news of the nuclear attack occurred. Chancellor Lars Neubauer did whatever he could when he expressed his condolences about all of the lives lost in the bombing, and immediately called Caudel's major allies together for a conference. The Chancellor and the Calfairian President both agreed that due to such a crisis occurring, the prospect of another terrorist attack and the grim reality of a possible global war, security was tripled. The coastal holiday nation of Calfairia turned into a fortress within only a few hours, as the first arrivals began to touch down at a private airport.
Calfairia's already impressive security force was increased with the support of Oceanus. The docks were on tight lockdown by the Oceanian Marines, the water ways were being patrolled by Oceanian submarines, some of the best in the world. They had even deployed Sonar Balloons, formerly a secret project, but due to the circumstances, every measure of security was needed. Seatone and Gunwale arrived at the Calfairian Capital Building, flanked by a detail of four special service members. "Chancellor Neubauer! A pleasure to see you. I wish we could've been here on better circumstances. Has any other nation arrived yet?"
Tiberiionus stood in front of an assembly of press members, cameras and microphones focused on him, ready to send his every word live to all of Glory and those willing to watch internationally. He took a few moments pause to build the anticipation of what he was going to say before finally speaking, "My fellow Gloriians and all those , today an atrocity was committed in the nation of Oslan. An affront to all who call this planet home. Over a quarter million dead, a number expected to double. Because of a terrorist group from one of our neighbors. A nuclear armed neighbor. A nation who is mobilizing on their border with Oslan. It could just be a coincidence, it could be that they are just trying to make sure the terrorists don't flee into their own country and commit a similar act. It is too early to tell. But we do know one thing, these terrorists didn't just build a nuclear weapon, even if it was only 100 kilotons; this weapon had to come from somewhere. Currently, all signs point to that very nation who these terrorists are from. So, I must implore Tyranus, if you wish to wash your hands of all doubt, to erase every trace of doubt, to show you are committed to peace, you must commit every resource you can to find out where the nuke came from. For if you are innocent, you will have only positives to gain. Should no nuclear weapon be missing, then someone else was responsible, if one nuclear weapon is missing, we know that we dont have to fear another such attack in the meantime, if more are missing, we know we must spare no effort in stopping these weapons being used." Tiberiionus paused once more, looked around the room, and suddenly shifted his demeanor from one of friendliness and mourning to a stern, menacing one. "But should you refuse, and the world discovers you complacency in this heinous crime against the entire world, then may hellfire rain upon. May your cities face destruction and your nation wiped from the map as the world comes crashing down upon you. For you will find no friends. You will find no comfort. No one shall feel mercy for the act you had committed. You will not survive." Tiberiionus paused a third time, going back into his friendly demeanor, "So, if you wish to avoid such a fate, prove to the world your innocence so that none will think of any guilt and so that we all may focus on the enemy, the terrorists responsible for this tragedy." He then turned and walked off the platform without taking any questions. Once out of sight, he told an aide to phone the conference in Calfaria to tell them to set up a hologram conference so that he could still be present in one fashion.
After around an hour, Seliph arrived to the airport at Calfairia. It was jus a short flight since the country was not so far from the Union. Once he arrived, a person in a soldier uniform stepped down the plane and put a pair of small machines in the floor that unpacked and became two light armored robots. They were armed with katanas and a soldier carried the fire weapons with him. This was the king's escort. They were a new prototype of soldier that his nation was doing and this got approved into service. They were mostly used for police and militia duties, but this ones were made for escorts and guarding VIPs. He was greeted by some diplomats and the ambassador he had in Calfairia, then followed him around as he got into a limo that took him to the capital building. In there, he got off the limo and noticed that there were other leaders talking.
"Indeed" Chancellor Neubauer told Seatone and Gunwale. "While I deeply wish to extend my condolences to all those who perished in the attack in Oslan, I'm afraid that we must deal with a much more grim prospect of an international war. Something that might not be seen on this scale before, assuming that what I'm predicting is true." The Chancellor then walked alongside the two Oceanian leaders into the conference room. "I have a feeling that not everyone invited today is going to be pursuing a different agenda, which means that all of Gestone might be forced to take sides. Just like the last World War...." The Chancellor took his seat calmly, just as the holographic projection of Tiberiionus came up.
Tiberiionus was sitting in a chair looking into one of the many cameras of the hologram transmitter room, while also keeping an eye on the video screen that showed him the room from the perspective of the hologram projector, who's camera would rotate with his head so he could see the whole room from a similar perspective as he would have if actually there. "Good evening gentlemen", he told them, "Have I missed anything?"
Seliph, along with his two companion robot guards, entered the building and went to take his place. The robots were moved into the entrance to watch over the room as Seliph and his best friend walked to their place. He then noticed the hologram and saw the emperor of the Glorian empire. He stood up and walked close to the holografic proyector. "Oh, emperor Tiberiionus, is so good to see you... even if it is just an hologram." he said politely to him as he let the others talk before the event started. "The event hadn't started yet, but it soon will." He said. "My scientist had developed a new proyector that we think might interest you. We can talk about it later if you wish." He said with a polite smile as he waited for his answer.
Jakob's detail, three men armed with highly modified rifles and blue with orange trimmed dress uniforms that allowed for enough maneuverability to be combat uniforms. He bristly marched in, nodding at the security bots as with his security silently taking positions near them. "Gentlemen," Jakobs said he hurried in. "I hope I'm not too late. Ran into a bit of turbulence on the flight in."
Neubauer waved off Jakobs as he took his seat, just as a gigantic projection of the world map appeared on the wall to the East. "I'm afraid that this would have to do, but anyway. Tyranian terrorists, as you all know, has destroyed Borovir with the use of a 100 kiloton thermonuclear warhead. The entire Borovir CBD has been completely destroyed alongside the surrounding suburbs.... I suspect foul play....and that these terrorists were not actually working independent at all. Other then being a massive blow to Oslanian morale an-" The Chancellor suddenly cut his speech as a Calfairian diplomat burst through the door. "My Apologizes, but Tyranius has just declared war on Oslan!"
Tiberiionus "slammed" his fist on the table, his hologram not doing much as he leaned forward, "I knew it! I knew Tyranus was responsible! We need to set up an international coalition so that we can throw back these foul aggre-" suddenly an aide's face appeared too the side of Tiberiionus's in the projection and whispered something into his ear. After that, he suddenly got very quiet before stating, "Mercenia has declared war of Glory, our troops are currently fighting a large number of Mercenian troops along our border. I must go. End transmission." and his hologram suddenly disappeared
Jakobs' simply turned to face Neubauer in his chair. "Suspicions confirmed, I assume?" He looked over at the map on the wall. "If there is some sort of dirty alliance between Mercenia and Tyranus, then Olson will need help..." He thought for a moment before speaking. "I can spare a four regiments of airborne to assist with the defense in Olson. But the Gloriians will have to prevail without us, I can't risk weakening my defenses with terrorists about."
Seliph gave a step back and turned around. "I can send drones and mech to help defend the Olsean borders while my fabrics produce my new robot prototype." He said as he walked. "They can be quickly deployed into combat and help defend key posotions, but their armor is weak." He explained. "I will see if I can send help to the Glorians trough sea rout, but i dont promise anythig." He said as he walked to his place.
Commodore Seatone stood up. "Oceanus's Navy can blockade their coastal regions, as well as provide long range missile support from our cruisers. And when the time comes for an invasion, our Marines will be there." Gunwale nudged him in the elbow. "Oh, right. We do have a new technology that will be of use to those of you unfortunately situated on the Tyranian border. Sonar Balloons. All the power of a Oceanian Command Sub's sonar system in a tiny reinforced basket attached to a weather balloon. It'll relay all sorts of information, such as detecting enemy aircraft and ground movement, generating terrain maps, report weather with near perfect accuracy, you name it. They're easy to set up, and if you have them in enemy airspace, easy to take down too, flip of a switch and it goes up in flame. No cost gentlemen, Oceanus is here to help. Expect them in your warehouses in a month."
"Caudel will not idly sit while thousands upon thousands of innocent lives are taken without proper reason." Lars shook his head. "As many of you know from historical reasons, Caudelian pilots are some of the best of the world. The Federal Republic of Caudel will send nothing short of a brigade from the Air Force to defend against our common enemy. Caudel will also support Glory in whatever form after the conflict with Tyranius is dealt with. Aside from air dominance, I'm sure we can all work together to en-" The Caudelian Chancellor suddenly stopped as one of his own men whispered something in his ear. "R-right.......okay. I'm afraid we're going to be more then involved now, aren't we?" The Chancellor rose from his chair and looked down at the table, trying to avoid eye-contact. "Maltarus, Asakirk and Ahvalard just formed a coalition against Caudel, and has only just declared war....those poor bastards." With that, the Chancellor casually walked away from the table and left the room.
Tiberiionus was back in his war room with his generals overlooking a live satellite feed map of Glory, Mercenia, and the surrounding areas. "Imperarii, here's what we know so far." Priimaperatii Varia began, typing onto a holographic screen that controlled the map, zooming in onto the front line with moving shapes representing the forces of the two sides, "Mercenia is committing about five million troops in a broad offensive across the entire frontier at about a million per hundred miles. Meanwhile, we have a single entrenched Invasion Group defending the line. So far, the Mercenians are proving exactly as expected, under equipped, but numerous and willing to charge until they are all dead or the defensive line is overwhelmed. We currently have about two million other troops ready to deploy, but the second invasion group is defending our eastern frontier. If you ask me, I think we should hold our third invasion group near UrbaCentralis that way in the event of a breakthrough on either frontier, or an amphibious assault, they could quickly respond." Tiberiionus put his hands together and rested his head on it, "How long until the military is fully mobilized?" "Three months sir." "Expand the draft. A world war is coming our way, set the target to one in twenty five citizens are soldiers. Our reserves should be able to handle that right?" "Yes sir." "Good, now, as it's only three months, I want the third I.G. to be split in two. Send five Grand Groups to form a defensive line behind the northern frontier using the major cities as strongholds the Mercenians would have to take, and send orders that should the frontier force be in danger of being overwhelmed, they are to fall back to the second line, with five grand groups being set further back to establish a third line." He ordered, "We only need to hold out three months before we have the numbers to overwhelm them. In the meantime, I want the Magniitiums and air force to make sure that the Mercenians don't have free range in their own country. I want Rose missiles falling on their cities at least once a day. I want the air force to hit every target, be it infrastructure or military, they can and to not concern themselves with civilian casualties. The Mercenians will regret this day." "Yes sir! I shall send out your command to my fellow Priimapertors!"
