That needs a little more info. The user banned was long time Jokester/Pain-In-The-Arse Dan who's been around on the site for a long ol' while. In fact, he's been here long enough to be permanently banned already. So, regardless of information he imparts, he's not exactly welcome for that reason alone. So, the account was banned for ban evasion. As for the issue at hand, we have no idea. Eight is in hot water but we have no information to form anything solid on this so, just go about your business. The news is likely to blow this up a bit to make a story but for anything relating to this site, we'll inform you when we have anything to report. As far as we're concerned, this has nothing to do with us. Regardless of outcome, we will not be speculating on events except only as they pertain to the site only. It would be unfair and irrelevant to do so. So, legal and official stuff from me over, go about your day. I'll see you guys around.

I heard about Dan before but never met him, I've seen some of his posts in old threads and all that. But yeah, I did have a feeling it was an older member because he mentioned an admin on here about what had happened. Personally, I thought it was just some troll saying stupid things and whatnot. But apparently, it is true. I hope that Eight is fine and such, I'd rather not get into too much detail about this and carry on the rest of my day. It's very likely we might get some news about what's going on.

Ok, so, here's the deal: This is Dan. It was recently brought to my attention by certain persons that a post was made concerning Eight Star and his supposed arrest. As you've probably guessed, the poster was not me. I haven't been here in a year, and I wasn't super intent on returning. But this really got my goat. I could go on for hours on how out of character that person was (unless I have an inflated opinion of myself and am actually so full of cheese), but instead I'll just settle on pointing out a few things: Y'all know that I only even make accounts from U of T campus. While I wouldn't suggest autobanning any ip that resolves from there, this should have been a dead giveaway, considering that adress was probably nowhere near said campus. You could claim that I could be trying to pull some sort of ruse here and that I actually used a proxy or something, but anyone that knew me for longer than, like, a week would know that I'm too lazy to actually try finding a proxy this site doesn't block, much less abroad to make a single post. Also, given that my sources claim that the information in the post is true, you are probably looking for someone to promote to admin, as well as someone to add to the roster. You're also probably observant enough to tell that I'm in touch with some of the members. I wouldn't worry about that if I were you, I'm not likely to care what happens, maybe giggle a bit at the occasional drama that happens. Finally, I'm going to mention that the reason I am posting here, and not using skype to bother the staff, is because I like to have these things be public record, as I always have. And while I don't agree with the presentation of the information, I do feel the information should have been made public at most a day after you found out. Not posting it would avoid drama, but people should know what happens, good or bad. But seriously, as nice as it is to be a demon remembered only in folklore, you shouldn't blame every problem on me, especially if it's trying to look like me. Next thing I know, I'm going to be called out for impersonating Flash, or TWIF, or something.
@Are You Cereal Not to sound rude or anything, but if you hadn't already done something like that multiple times before we wouldn't have been so quick to believe that the account was yours to begin with (which I'm still unsure about even after your post, everything in it was 100% what you would have written). I did not check the IP when banning the account because there was literally no reason to, I just ran it through the spam banner. Whether it was you or not it was inappropriate and you have nothing to lose anyway. I mean, you were already permabanned on your main account and have countless others. If you don't want people pointing fingers at you, it's too late. You've already made a name for yourself as that guy who creates accounts to comment on current events long ago. In this case it's best to just ignore it because it shouldn't affect you anyway. EDIT: The account's name was DanSquee of course you're going to be the first person to come up.
Oh, I'm under no illusion that people would think that I would make a post like that. Like I said, the way I see myself described is actually fun to read, even if it's not totally accurate. In true dad fashion, I'm not mad, I'm just a bit dissapointed that the dude's ruse worked. The only question is why someone would want to be me. And, to be fair, I did leave the possibility that I am as cheesy as a cheesewheel and just don't know I am. I did get a giggle out of the screencap, so I guess it's not unlikely. In any case, it's nice to be able to talk in a civilized manner and not have to use the moon. If that still exists. I'll also have to check with grey1 if he did this, or anyone he keeps in touch with did. It was clearly someone that's been around a while, too, since I was permabanned a while ago, and non one should have been able to find my old posts to copy. Anyways, have fun with finding a replacement! My honest suggestion is to promote whoever the newest staff member is (sans today's pick, can't be too easy), y'all probably want someone with new ideas. I still think this needs to be addressed more publicly. Saying that Eight is in hot water is beyond an understatement.
Not that I care about any of this or are involved in anyway, but actually you all saying you need more public news about Eight is kind of retarded. Your users on a my little pony forum that have absolutely no right to pry into the private life of anyone, no matter how bad their ''crimes'' are. Even if they were found out to be absolutely true, the guy goes to / is in jail still, what business is it of yours? I hate the internet mentality where people think they are entitled to know everything just because they happen to be there at the time it happens or are long standing members, grow up, get something better to do instead of gossiping about peoples privacy.
Skyborne, this sort of thing sort of affects the whole forum. Just because you don't care, doesn't mean Ridley doesn't have the right to care. I'm willing to wait for answers myself, but I'm not going to tell others they have to follow my example. Your opinion is yours don't assume it has to be everyone's or there's something wrong with them.
Wasn't directed at ridlley, and actually it's stating a truth, none of you have business poking around in the private affairs of others just because that person happens to share a forum.
Do you know if any of us have younger family members here? This isn't a forum where you have to be eighteen or older. What happen with eight could affect the people here. Don't make assumptions.
I'm gonna be clear and concise about this. This site has a lot of minors. And it has had a lot of minors over the course of its lifetime. Given the nature of the charges, and the nature of this website, people do have a right to know what happened and what is going on. Is it a bit of a privacy breach? Maybe. But it /is/ this site's business. He was an admin. In charge of a lot of things. While not proven and he may not have, positions of power are easily abused to take advantage of things that Eight is accused of. But it's not my place to share it publicly. I've shared it in a private environment, yeah. But I already know the price to pay for posting things like this in a public forum, even with the best of intentions. In fact I'm pretty sure I know that better than anyone here. I respect your opinion. But... it's wrong.
Are you aware of what he was arrested for? Quite frankly, I don't think he's entitled to privacy anymore.
