"I'd say they're talon company but they were mercs during the war, and they were griffons" ace told her as he started to bury them
Max thought about that as she helped him, covering the bodies over respectfully. "They might be mercenaries of some kind... They were certainly well organised and equipped..." She said, trying to remember if their armour had any kind of symbol on it.
As they finished the fourth pile, Max floated a towel out of her bag, and wiped the green radroach gunk and dust off herself. "We'd better keep moving," She said, looking at the other two, "We don't want to be stuck in the canyon if they decide to come back, whoever they are."
Ace nodded before kissing her cheek "Be safe" he told her He then turned around and limbed the wall again as jay stood up and walked to max, ready to go
Max smiled and nodded to Ace, before carrying on down the canyon with Jay. A couple of hours later, just as it was getting dark, they reached the end, and the land began to flatten out again. Max remembered the area from when she'd first left her Stable, but wasn't sure where they could stop for the night; last time, she'd basically slept in a patch of dead bushes. "Keep an eye out for any shelter," She said to Jay, scanning the horizon herself.
Jay nodded as she walked She looked really tired but still a little shook by what she saw earlier Ace soon joined with them after they had fully left the canyon and walked on the other side of max as the wind picked up
Max smiled at Ace and nuzzled him a bit, still looking around for any kind of shelter. There wasn't much, as this area had just been woodland before the bombs, but after a while they came across a road. Looking down the road, Max spotted a small dinner. "That might be our best bet to get out of this wind," She said, pointing it out.
Ace smiled "that wou-" Then a raindrop hit aces pip buck and it gave a click Ace looked at his pipbuck then the sky as more rain drops started to fall Each making aces and max pipbucks click in response "What's that noise?" Jay asked looking at them Then ace remembered that any radiation they get, jay gets twice as much
"This rain," Max said, looking up, "It's radioactive. We need to get inside. " She took off her coat, and put it over Jay, covering her head and trying to protect her as well as she could as the rushed to the dinner. It wasn't that far, but the rain must have come from a detonation area, because by the time they made it inside, Max's Pipbuck was showing she had minor radiation poisoning. She was already feeling the effects, and looked at Jay in concern. "How do you feel?" She asked, looking closely at her face.
Jay convulsed a bit as she held back from throwing up "Horrible" she groaned as lucky closed the door behind them and started to look in his saddle bag for the rad away
(Lucky? ) Max had Rad-away in her bags too, but right now she focused her magic on Jay; a mild anaesthetic and settling spell, to try and ease her symptoms. She lead her to a bench and sat her down slowly.
((Sorry he's an oc of mine in a dif site)) Jay groaned more and she laid down Her horn then glowed as she pulled out a teddy bear from her saddle bag and held it in her hooves
Max smiled a bit at that, and stroked Jay's mane soothingly, still casting the spell. "Is that yours?" She asked, trying to take Jay's mane off the sickness, "What's she called?"
"Mmm hmmm" jay said to her "Sammy" she cuddled it tighter "Can I go to sleep?" She asked as ace brought the rad away
"Not yet dear," Max said, not wanting to risk her slipping into a coma, or worse... "Can you tell me a bit more about Sammy?" She asked, smiling, even as she started to feel a little nauseous too.
Ace frowned at the state jay was in after only being out there for maybe a few minutes Jay stroked Sammy's head "my mom gave her to me a few weeks before she and dad died" she explained before she coughed a small amout of blood onto the bench She tasted blood and it felt like her throat had been cut "I never really thought about it too much exept when I feel sick or I hurt a lot" she then dazzled out for a second "when ace shoot me all I could think about was getting to her....to help ease the pain but I only made it so far before I passed out"
Max took the rad-away and swiftly pierced it with the stray, before offering it up to Jay's mouth. "I'm sorry," She said, sadly, "About all the pain you've suffered; but now that I'm here, I'll try and save you from it as much as possible, okay?" She stroked her mane. "Now please, drink this; it'll help." She smiled again, lifting Jay's head a bit so she could drink.
She complied but coughed the small amont she drank, out "Ugh I forgot how bad it tastes" she complained before she drank the rest with a sour face Ace, not wanting to see this, started to look around
"I know dear, but sugar destroys the active ingredient," Max said, apologetically. She stroked Jay's mane gently as she drank the rest, and thought for a bit. "Jay," She said, quietly, "A while ago, when you half asleep, you called me mommy; is that something you want? For me to be your adoptive mother?"
