Ace smiled as max asked this cause she was finaly addressing the matter Jay blushed a bit ".....um....I didn't know I had done that.....but...would you be?" She asked with big eyes
"I will," Max said, smiling at her, and giving her a little nuzzle, "If you want me to." She still wasn't sure what it meant to be a mother, or if she was ready to be one... but she knew was that she loved the young mare, and wanted to protect her above all else, and that seemed to her that's how mothers should feel.
Jay nodded and nuzzled her "I do want you to be" she said as the rad away took effect and she started to look better
"Alright then sweetie," Max said, kissing her forehead "Now rest a while; you've had a long day, and we can talk later." She smiled at her before looking at Ace, her face betraying how sick she was feeling; she'd given Jay her coat, leaving her with almost no protection from the radiation.
Ace frowned and walked to max as jay turned over to fall asleep He then put a hoof around her an kissed her cheek "now let's take care of you" he whispered as he floated a rad away to her
Max nodded weakly, and sat down to drank the radaway. It did indeed taste bad, like off oranges. She rested her head on Ace's shoulder as she drank it, thinking how luck she was to have him and Jay in her life now. "I do love you, Ace," She said quietly, as she finished the radaway. Maybe it was seeing that mare die, or maybe it was the radiation playing games with her head, but she felt these things needed to be said, while they still could be...
Ace smiled as he rested his head on hers "I love you too" he said as his horn glowed and he put away the supplies as he comforted max
Max smiled, and as the radaway got to work, she started to feel better. She put her blanket down on the bench opposite Jay, and snuggled under it with Ace, feeling very sleepy.
Ace pulled out his sword so she wouldn't hurt them with it but kept his magnum on himself as he held her and started to fall asleep
Max nuzzled Ace's chest, feeling safe as he held her, and drifted off into a peaceful sleep, listening to the rain falling on the roof of the diner.
"time to get up" he told her it was the same time they woke up yesterday so ace figured they should get up now considering the rain was gone
Max shook herself awake a bit more, then nodded. "Have we got anything for breakfast?" She asked, as she gently nudged Jay, to try and wake her.
jay opened her eyes she had been awake but just didnt get up she then sat up ace nodded "i found some cans last night"
Max nodded to him. "Sounds good; there's a can opener and a camp stove in my bags," She turned back to Jay and smiled. "Morning dear; how are you feeling? Better I hope?"
jay smiled and said "i am better mom" ace laughed at that "and how are you dad" she said with a smerk then ace shut his mouth
Max grinned and ruffled Jay's mane. Yeah... she was her daughter all right. "Love you, kiddo," She said, smiling, before letting Jay get up, and going to see how Ace was getting on with breakfast.
when she saw ace in the light it was obvious he was suffering from some rad poisoning jay smiled and followed max over to ace
"Here, you can't avoid the terrible taste either!" Max teased, sitting next to Ace and cuddling him a bit as she pulled a radaway from her pack and gave it to him. She cuddled Jay too, as she came over, as happy as she'd been for a while, sitting in the derelict diner, waiting for a can of beans to heat up on a camping stove. She finally had a family again, after all these years...
