"Upper levels and a little bit of the area around the stairs on the matinence floor" ace said packing his things Jay stood there holding Sammy
"Well, it should be down in maintenance, right?" Max said, putting on her bags and coat. "Next to the boilers?" She looked over at Jay. "Put Sammy away safe, Jay; we don't want her getting hurt again, do we?" She looked at her, and thought for a moment. "We should also head to the armoury; find some armoured overalls for Jay. The security ponies used to wear them."
"Already done, they're at the vault door, I went back thru and found nothing that would hurt us" he said "we just need to find the talisman" Jay held Sammy tighter before putting her away in a new saddle bag It was a stable guards saddle bag, heavily hinting that they really did go to the armory already
"Oh, alright..." Max said, wondering how long she'd been out, "Well, let's just get down there and find it then." She looked at Jay. "But this time, we stick together, alright?"
Jay gave a sad look and nodded her head Ace opened the door and waited for them to join him "And maybe you can lead" ace said to max
"Sure," Max said, heading for the elevator. Before long, they were back where they'd been before Jay had disappeared, and resumed their search for the talisman. As they came around a corner, they found the source of the water leak; one of the boilers had burst, and was pumping water into the room. It had already flooded another, smaller, lower room, and as Max peered down the steps into the murky water, she thought she saw the faint shimmering of a talisman.
Ace sighed "So how good are you at swimming" he asked jay "Pretty good" she said "Max?" He asked wondering who would get it
"Good enough," She said, stripping off her bags and clothes. She gave them to Ace to keep dry for her, then took deep breath and plunged into the water. It burned her eyes as she looked around, but she soon spotted the talisman, and swam over to it. It was in much better condition the the one at the hospital, but now she had to try and figure out how to remove it with out damaging it...
Ace was dumb founded He wasn't expecting her to just jump in Jay sat down and waited patently with ace while he began counting
Max found a pocket of air, and swam up to it to breath for a second. Her eyes were still burning, and her vision was beginning to darken as she felt something hot running down her cheeks, almost like tears... She tried not to think about it, and used her magic to heal herself, before diving back down again, accepting the pain. She finally got the talisman free, and swam back to the doorway, but her vision was even darker, and more blood was running from her eyes as she crawled back out of the water, clutching her prize.
"Max!" Ace said his worry spiking "What happened?" He asked as he whiped away the blood as jays horn glowed and she attempted to heal max even more
"Some... chemical in the water..." She explained, horsely, giving him the Talisman. "It's alright..." She noticed her vision returning very slightly, and smiled at the glowing shape she assumed to be Jay's horn, not realising her teeth were bloody too. She coughed something up, then sat back against the wall to rest, her own horn glowing now as she focused on healing herself.
"We should get out of it then" ace said taking the gem and picked up max as he started to bring them out of the water
Max winced a little as she was picked up, and blinked as her eyesight slowly returned. By the time they'd reached the top level, she was ready to walk on her own, and asked Ace for her clothes and bags back.
Max smiled a little as he kissed her, and wriggled into her jumpsuit, getting kitted up. When she was finished, she looked at her empty holster for a moment, before looking back to Ace. "Shall we go?" She asked, quietly.
They headed out into the tunnel, pausing to pick up the items Ace'd retrieved from the armoury, then made their way outside. Max blinked as she stepped out into the morning light; even blocked by the cloud cover, the sun was much brighter than the lights in the Stable. She shaded her eyes with her hoof, and looked at the horizon; smoke, rising from the cabin they's visited on their way there...
Ace looked at max and jay once he saw the smoke "Good thing we didn't take anything huh?" He asked with a smerk Jay rolled her eyes smiling as she looked at the sky
Max nodded slowly. "I just hope it's a friendly fire..." She said quietly, starting to head towards it.
