Ace started to lead the way till they came to the cabin again Smoke rose from the chimney and they're seamed to be somepony walking around inside
Max stopped him, and looked at the cabin uncertainly. "Wait, let me just check first; see if they are friendly." She didn't wait for an answer before trotting carefully towards the door, trying to get a look at the pony inside.
Max knocked on the door, and a second later was greeted by the business end of a shotgun, and an suspicious face. "Whadya want!?" She stallion demanded, not looking friendly, but not shooting her on site either. "Um..." it was a good question; what did she want?
Ace frowned and pulled his sniper out Ready to fire if he did Jay stepped forward She was scared for max
"Nothing really. Sorry to disturb you, I'll just be on my way..." Max said, starting to walk off, slowly. "Ah ah ah!" The pony warned, raising the shotgun more, "Not so fast!" He looked at her saddle bags. "What've you got in there?"
Ace coughed loudly "She has our stuff....and unless you wish to feel a 308 round pass thru your head I sudjest you put the gun down" he was tired of this already They didn't take his stuff so he wasn't takingthey'res
The pony span his head to look at Ace, and Max decided to seize the opportunity. She lunged forwards, tackling the pony, and trying to wrestle the shotgun from his telekinetic grasp. The both disappeared through the door of the cabin, and a moment later, a shotgun blast was heard.
Ace ran in to the house His eyes wide with worry (Please be ok) he repeated in his head as he busted they the door
Max was okay. The other pony was not. His head was decidedly more pulpy that a head should be, and the once-tidy cabin was now sprayed with red. Max way sat on the floor next to the twitching body, blinking and shaking, covered in significant portion of the pony's life supporting fluids. The shotgun lay in front of her, still smoking.
"Crap" ace said out loud before gently walking up to max and putting one of the coats from the stable around her and pulled her into a hug
Max didn't say anything, but closed her eyes and hugged him back tightly. At least the ringing in her ears from the gun going off next to her head had drowned out the voices...
Ace stroked her mane and slowly backed out of there so she didn't have to see him Jay watched, wondering where the other pony eerent
"But... He's dead," She said, looking back at the cabin, still shaking, "How is that okay? He's dead, and for what!?" She looked at Ace, lost and afraid. Why couldn't she stop hurting ponies?
"He was going to rob you you defended yourself and the gun fired when it was pointed at him....it was an accedent" he said looking into her eyes "Please calm down" he asked as jay started to get uncomfortable about the situation
Max still felt terrible, but she nodded quietly, looking at him. She looked down at her coat, the white fabric now stained red, and felt the blood starting to congeal on her face, the coppery smell filling her nostrils. She pushed Ace away suddenly, and retched, feeling dizzy and weak. "Let's get going," She said, quietly, when she had stopped, "I need to find some water... To clean my face..."
Ace looked at her as his horn glowed and he levitated the blood off her face She wasn't standing stop so he couldn't get all of it But he got most
Max walked a little distance ahead of the other two, wrapping herself in the coat Ace had given her, and looking around desperately for any kind of water source, but there was nothing, not even a puddle. The rain from the other night had all drained away, and left the wasteland as dry and barren as always. She kept trudging onwards, occasionally muttering at the voices in her head.
