Max continued walking until it started going dark. At one point, she stopped, staring at something off to one side and grabbing at her empty holster, but then she just blinked, and continued walking. Just as the last light was fading, they came across the road again, and Max sat at the edge, looking both ways.
Ace walked up to her and sat down next to the road beside her He then moved his tail so it intertwined with hers as he sat there waiting for her to say anything Jay walked to the other side off max and sat down too But unlike ace she didn't touch Max
"We should... sleep." Max said, slowly, turning to look at Ace. "It's dangerous to be outside at night, for the night is dark and full of terrors..."
"Yes max I know" he said remembering the first night the spent together "But I'm more worried about you" he told her
Max looked at him for a moment, then seemed to look behind him, before replying. "Don't worry about me; I'll be okay. Look after Jay; she needs you more." She looked at him for a moment longer, then nodded, before standing up and heading down the road to the diner they had slept in before.
Ace grabbed her hoof "Max...I love you, if something's wrong you need to tell me so we can work it out together
Max stopped and looked at him, then glanced about. "We need to keep moving," She warned, quietly. "We need to get inside."
Ace frowned again She needed to talk out what ever was wrong Ace then stood up an walked with her as jay followed
Max led them back to the diner, then barricaded the door behind them. After making sure it was secure, she walked behind the counter, to see it there was anything they could eat.
"Max!" Ace yelled from door He hadn't moved from there after they blocked the door "Will you stop And talk to me?"
Max stopped and looked at him, then glanced around, to see if they were under attack. "What is it?" She asked, looking a little confused.
"What is wrong....you've been spacing out and ignoring me" Ace said He felt hurt, espesaly sence he felt like she was ignoring him
"I have?" Max frowned. "I...I'm sorry; I don't remember..." She sat down, looking even more confused.
Max looked at him. "I'm... not sure," She replied, truthfully. "I... I think I may have suffered some kind of mental break..." She looked around the diner. "I can't remember how we got here..." She looked at him, confused and a little worried, "Have I suffered a blow to the head recently?"
"It would have had to be serious enough for me to lose consciousness..." She said, feeling her head for any wounds or scars. "It's either that, or severe psychological truama..." She said, finally. "Where... where have we been, Ace?" She asked, looking even more worried.
"W-We did?" Max asked, her eyes glancing about nervously, and her breathing getting faster. "I... why would we do that?" She demanded, looking even more confused and upset. "That place, Ace.... If I even went back there..." She buried her face in his mane, hugging him and sobbing.
