"Please..." Max whispered, starting to get upset again, "I'm saying no, Ace; don't turn this into something ugly..." She didn't remember the last few days, and was more confused than stressed, but what she wanted now was comfort; something to help her feel less lost...
Ace frowned (She'll to this to me but wont let me do it to her) he thought He then sat up started to pull out his weapons
Max curled up on her own, now feeling even more lost and upset, as Ace seemed to be ignoring her. She didn't want to upset him, but she had her reasons for refusing him, as she had explained before, and they remained as valid in her mind as they had been before.
Ace was upset with her He wasn't ignoring her, just working on his guns He had an itch in the back of his head saying this was wrong to do to her But if she's going to refuse 'pampering' he was going to refuse to cuddle with her.....at least for a while
Max curled up tighter, and turned over so that she was facing the back of the seat, trying to hide herself away as much as possible as she started to cry quietly. She was still worried at having lost so much time, and scared about what might have happened to make her forget so much, but she'd felt like she could cope with it; like it would all work out okay as long as she had Ace's support, however now she seemed to be losing that too...
After about an hour ace put his guns down and took his duster off He was still mad at her but......he didn't want her to be miserable So he got up and cuddled up behind her and wraped her in his hooves
Max had already drifted into a fitful and lonely sleep, tears dried on her cheeks, and was unaware of Ace's embrace. He hadn't been there when she'd needed him, and now her dreams were filled with abandonment and despair.
-ts- Ace was asleep when jay woke up She had slept in the kitchen thinking that ace and max were to do stuff together She was eating at another table
Jay looked over suprised before she swallowed Ace stayed asleep and tightened his hold on max in his sleep
Max looked down at the sleeping Ace, and chewed her lip a little, before wriggling out of his hooves, and going to sit opposite Jay at the table. She shivered, and wrapped her coat around herself a little tighter.
Jay looked at max and gave her a small smile before she continued eating Ace rolled over in his sleep
Max smiled back, hopefully, but then her face fell again as Jay just continued eating. She sat back against her chair, feeling lost and detached; somehow isolated from the two ponies she cared about.
After a few minutes ace woke up and walked over to them "morning" he said to the mares Jay gave him a smile then went back to eating....like she just didn't want to talk at all today
Max just stared blankly at the table, lost in her own thoughts, before slowly looking down at her coat; at the red/brown stains... "Did I... Did I kill somepony again?" She asked quietly, shaking a bit, as broken snapshots of memories flashed through her mind.
Max laughed bitterly at that. "And how many more ponies will have to die before I am safe, I wonder? Well... What's one more body on a pile of hundreds..." She muttered, looking at her blood-stained hooves in disgust.
Ace frowned again not wanting to hear about that again "As many that is needed" he said flatly as he got some breakfast for him and max
Max could hear the irritation in Ace's voice, so she shut up. How long until he got fed up altogether? She wondered; how long until he realised she was bad news, and moved on to better things? She just hoped he'd leave her before she ended up hurting him too...
