Max smiled weakly, and took it; hard biscuits and canned fruit. "Thank you," She said, quietly, before eating it. When she was done, she stood up again and set about getting everything ready for them to leave. That they had to get back to the hospital was the one thing she was sure of; the one thing that truly made sense to her.
Max looked back in the direction of the explosion. "We should probably get going," She said, looking at Ace. "Get back to the safety of the hospital..."
Ace got up and so did jay They got ready right as somepony ran in with his tail between his legs and eyes as big as the moon He didn't even see tgen as he ran into jay and they tumbled for a bit before jay wound up intop of him She screamed as she jumped off the blue earth pony and ran behind max and ace
Max instinctively reached for her gun with her magic, but once again found it empty, so she pounced on the pony instead, pinning him to the floor, and hitting him hard across the jaw with her hoof.
Ace almost shot him but max takled him instead After she threw a few punches ace pulled her off him "Max wait! The pony was bleeding for a cut on his cheek and seamed to be crying
Max struggled a little as Ace pulled her off the pony, but he was much bigger and stronger than her, so she couldn't get free.
"He's unarmed" he said as he held max "why are you here?" Ace asked once max calmed down enough "Raiders are after me" he said as he held his cheek where max had cut him "I'm sorry I should have looked where I was going"
"Yes, you should... now you had better keep going." Max said, coldly, sitting on the floor next to Ace.
Ace frowned (You want to help ponies but refuse to help this one cause he ran into jay) he thought The ponies eyes widened with fear
"Go on! Get out of here!" Max shouted, standing up again and approaching the pony menacingly. At the back of her mind, a part of her was yelling at her that this was wrong, that she was meant to help ponies, but the rest of her was to lost and broken to care, taking out it's anger and frustration on the unfortunate pony.
Max stopped and looked back at Ace, obviously conflicted; she didn't know what she was supposed to do anymore...
Ace moved forward to the pony "How far away are the raiders?" He asked "A-a-about half an hour out if they don't find a way over the river.....I-I blew up the bridge" he stuttered (Explains the explosion) ace thought before nodding and turning to max and magically pulled her into the kitchen behind him Once they were along ace looked at her as tears welled in his eyes "Max.....something's bothering you" he said wanting to know what it was that was bothering her so much that she attacked that pony
Max sat down and stared at Ace incredulously. "Something's... bothering me?" She whispered, in a voice that suggested she was about to snap completely. "I've lost three whole days of memories; gone, completely, the only thing I know for sure is that I killed somepony during that time..." She continued, the volume of her voice creeping up slightly as she slowly advanced on Ace. "I've been questioning my worth as a doctor, as a mother to Jay, even as pony in general; then, when I turn to one of only two ponies I thought I could rely on for comfort, he denies me even a simple hug because I refuse to let him do something to me that I have made very clear I'm not comfortable with, so yes! I suppose you could say something's BOTHERING ME!!!" She yelled, her own eyes now filled with angry tears as she stood a few inches from his face.
Ace felt like he was going to lose it His anger had been steadily rising with her volume of her voice He didn't know what to do anymore Anything he tryed to help her made her angry He thought she was going to help that pony like she says she wants to then nearly beats him to death And she's yelling at him It brought ace too many bad memory's that he had forgotten and that wasn't helping his temper he was trying to put a cap on He was so angry his jaw was clentched and his fore hooves were shaking and it was taking him all his concentration not to do something he would regret Once she was finaly done with her rant ace turned and began to briskly walk away from her to calm down Jay peaked around the corner as ace left out the back door She looked scared at the fact that they were fighting
Max fell back onto her haunches as Ace walked off. She watched him leave silently, then hung her head and started to just weep sadly, all her anger used up. After a couple of moments, she lifted her head to look back towards the dinner, and spotted Jay. She couldn't help but smile a tiny bit as she looked at her; Jay was one of the few certain things in her life, the one thing that could always make her feel a bit better. She stood up slowly, and trotted nervously over to Jay, as if expecting her to run away. "I'm sorry Jay," She said, quietly.
Jay almost ran to mAX BUT SHE HUGGED HER TIGHTLY NOT SAYING ANYTHING Ace walked off a ways before he stopped and began to calm down
Max hugged Jay back just as tightly, burying her face in her mane, just wanting to forget about everything else for a moment. "Saving you... It was the best thing I've ever done, Jay," She whispered, her face still in her mane, "It might be the only good thing..."
"What about ace" she said quietly remembering his story on how she had helped him when he didn't even know who he was
