"I think... I think maybe from now on, things will be better," Max said quietly, cuddling Ace a little tighter. These last few days had been hard for her, and she knew they'd been hard for Ace and Jay too. She could still hear the voices in her head, but she felt she always would, and that it was probably right that she did; she needed to be reminded of what she'd done, but she didn't need to be consumed by it. At least she could ignore them now...
-ts- Jay walked out of the cave stubbing her hoof on a rock "ow!" She whispered in pain be fore continuing to the edge of the ledge
"Who'sare?" Max mumbled, looking up and fumbling sleepily for her pistol, then scowling a little as she found her holster empty again. She'd have to ask Ace what had happened to it... "Jay?" She said, as she looked up and her eyes focused, revealing her daughter standing before her.
Jay looked at max "sorry for waking you" she said crossing her legs "but I need to pee" she told her before she made her way down
When Max next woke, it was the steely cold light of morning that greeted her. It was not long past dawn, and thankfully nothing had attacked them in the night. Max yawned, and snuggled against Ace a bit; it was still pretty cold...
Max watched Ace sleep for a little while, marvelling at how peaceful he looked, before gently nudging him. "Ace, it's morning..." She whispered, trying to wake him gently.
Max blushed at that, and looked out down the canyon. "Come on, we've got quite a way to lead these ponies yet, before we're safe..."
Ace leaned towards her and kissed her nose "Ok let's get everypony up" he said as he slowly got up and shivered before grabbing his coat and putting it on
Max scrunched her nose at the kiss, and then nodded with a little smile. She packed away her blanket, before heading into the cave, to find Jay.
Jay was sleeping in a corner near jack and snow Jessy was sleeping just a little ways off from them Ace smiled at her and stayed outside He really didn't like going in that cave anymore
Max woke Jay first, softly kissing her forehead. "Wake up, sweatheart," She said, quietly, "I need your help to wake these other ponies and get them ready to go,"
"Mmmm" jay moaned rolling over "ok ....just give me a sec" she said sleepily as she rubbed her eyes in a cute way
"Come on Jay; your father doesn't like coming in here, so it's up to us," Max said, slightly more firmly. "Besides, there will be lots of time for lying in bed once we get home," She said, with a small smile.
Max still didn't know the ponies that well, so she just nudged Jack gently awake, and let him wake Snow. "We need to get going soon," She said, quietly, as she headed back outside the cave to make some breakfast with Ace.
Jack had reathced for his gun until he saw who was nudging him "Oh...ok" he said before he began to kiss snows face to wake her up Ace had already taken out the food and even some extra for the others He was currently stretching getting ready to start a fire
