I realised that, everytime I click on a link that is outside EP, it shows a redirect/warning page that I should be careful. I be like..."What?" It is extremely annoying, I hope you guys could make it optional for users, at least after the first warning.Thanks. @Tyro The Fox @Minterwute
I'm used to it from steam, it's a nice reminder to check just what I'm clicking, as I don't always have my wits about me, but hey, if it's possible for it to be optional, it wouldn't affect me so no problem as far as I'm concerned.
I'll have a look. The issue is that it's there for legal reasons as well as a safeguard against someone sending you away to a website designed to hack your computer. It happened to me once on this very site (well, the old version) and allows you to double check that your going where you think your going.
Actually, a lot of big forum sites use a similar function of redirect to help warn people that they maybe entering unsafe content. It's really not annoying and there is no need to make it an option since it serves a good purpose. In short, I'm fine with it. Call me a suck up to the mods and admins if you want.
I get why it's there, but I've found it annoying a few times. If it's possible to make it optional, I'd likely turn it off.
Gaia has the redirect thing too, but they warn you if you turn it off they aren't responsible if you end up on a dummy site that hacks you. I leave it on even if it is annoying.
I don't find it much of a problem whenever you click on an external link to another site. It would be good to have feature so you can turn it off. I'd keep mine on because you know, someone could hack into my account or computer. You never know......>.>
Yes, our dear friend S.P.I.K.E. just is looking out for our safety when we look at links that leave this site. He is programmed to help us out, not annoy us~
I actually find it quite amusing. It doesn't take very long to click on the continue button and seeing little spikey wikey every time I click on a link is adorable. I also find it very valuable in terms of security. I take every precaution to ensure that my computer remains virus free so if I were to accidentally click on a link I wasn't sure about, I'd want that extra security measure to be there. I don't click on links I'm not sure about but still. Of course, I wouldn't see the harm in adding a feature to disable this security measure per users preference. I would be sure that it's automatically set to 'ON' and when a user disables the feature they are notified of the potential harm in doing so. Also notifying them that this is their decision and any virus they might get is not the liability of the site or the staff. Legal responsibilities and all that. -Nights
It reminds me of some older forums from maybe a decade ago; it used to be common back then. Now, I dunno.
