Viktoria walked into the same class as Jared, a few minutes late. A flustered look appeared on her face, and she quickly took a seat a space away from Jared, still a bit shy from her dilatory appearance.
Kara slipped into the library, and began searching through the books. "what I need is a book on how to use my powers" she grumbled
Lark walked down the hallway towards her class, snapping her fingers anxiously. A low rumble of distant thunder made her stop in her tracks. She covered her ears, and screwed her eyes shut. "Go away," she thought, her brows furrowed in concentration. The rumbling gave one last burst, as if in defiance, and slowly moved away. She removed her trembling hands slowly, and opened her eyes. With a quick clearing of her throat, she turned on her heel, and started towards the library.
(I think it's towards the end of the period now, so a lot of people are heading towards class, but we still have a little time.)
The bell rang for the end of free period and the halls emptied out in a flash. A voice sounded from the intercom system. "Will the students from Brent Harrington's party on Saturday please report to the principle's office ASAP" Jared slowly got up and, without making any eye contact, left the room.
"well, that's just great, isn't it" Kara muttered before rushing out the door and towards the Principal's office, all the while muttering to herself. "I hope we can all keep in control during this......"
Bobby sat in his normal seat in his math class. He didn't know what the announcement was about, but what business did the school have calling out people. He didn't like it. There was no roster for who was at the party, he hadn't even wanted to be there in the first place. He read enough comics to know he needed to keep a low profile, something like this could be a government trap. He wasn't going to let himself be dissected.
Viktoria reluctantly stood up and went towards the office. The whole ordeal was tiring and frightening to her.
Lark stopped in the hallway, her thoughts frozen. The office was on the way to the library, just around the corner, and she didn't feel much like sneaking past it. Besides, she had always been a good student. She kissed her teeth, and sighed. She continued walking, and approached the door, slowly turning the doorknob.
Kara turned the corner and saw Lark. she frowned, then shrugged. maybe Lark had powers, maybe she didn't. Kara walked over to the door. "hi. any idea why they called us up?"
Lark had a rather good idea of why, but she felt it was not something to blab about. "No, not really..." she said, feigning a look of confusion on her face. "Perhaps some people vandalized the school, or something." With a shrug, she opened the door.
As everyone entered the room only the principle was there. He was sitting in his chair and at his computer. "So you 5 were at the party on Saturday. I see. Excuse me for one moment" And he left the room. As the door shut the students could hear multiple voices. A few moments of eerie silence later a couple of men in black suits and generic shades walked in. They locked the door behind them.
Kara backed up against the door, ready to phase if necessary. "h-hello. and who are you, might I ask?"
Lark backed to the wall unintentionally, praying not to hear a rumble of thunder in the distance. Her hands grew warm, and they twitched with potential energy.
Viktoria remained somewhat calm. Her hands were behind her back, with nearly invisible smoke rising. She clenched her fists quickly.
(Wait a second how is it five? Bobby went to class not the office. Or is there an addition NPC in place of Bobby?)
(I read the post wrong... Damn Okay 4 students in the office ) "We can imagine what you're feeling right now" Said the man on the left. "Don't worry. We're not here to harm you" adds the man on the right. "We know what happened that night and we are VERY intrigued with what could have happened with you"
(How is it just five students that went to the party anyway. I mean Bobby went with friends. Of course neither of them would go to the principal's office for just going to a party. Going to have Bobby comment on that.) Considering there were several people in this class who were also at the party, Bobby had to wonder who actually went to the principal's office. As he worked out the Algerbra problem on the board, he was now pretty sure the announcement had been some sort of trap. Those with powers might feel a need to report, and those without would feel like there was no reason for the principal to care. Now he had to hope no one who reported ratted him out. Hopefully no one would fall for the lame 'We already know excuse'. If they already knew then they call people by name, and probably wouldn't have waited till Monday to gather people. His powers were apparent the next day no reason they wouldn't gather the people they new about in private rather than make them a target at school. Of course maybe the government agents read comic books too and thought it was supposed to be done that way....
