Max soon fell asleep too, only waking the next morning, having slept far longer than she'd planned. "Mmmn..." She mumbled, blinking sleepily, and raising her head from Ace's chest. "I didn't realise how tired I was..." Looking at Ace, she smiled, and kissed his cheek.
"I agree" he said as his hoof moved down her body and rested on her flanks "Did I wake you up from petting your mane?" He asked hoping he hadn't
Max blushed a little at Ace's roaming hoof, then smiled at him. "Hmm? Oh, no... I don't think so... Though I wouldn't have minded if you had~" She replied, before giving him a quick kiss. "We should probably get up," She sighed, reluctantly, "We've got a lot to sort out..."
"Like my memory's and the new ponies" ace said He looked both excited and nervous at the though of remembering everything again Nervicited as one pink pony might say Ace then gently moved max off of him and got up and stretched Leaving the echo of popping in the room before he went and put clothes on
Max snuggled the blanket for a few more minutes after Ace got out of bed, then sat up and rubbed her mane. "Well, I'd like to have a few uninterrupted hours at least to work on you, so I'll need to sort the new ponies out with something to do first; can you reprogramme the robots to avoid Jay's room while I'm doing that? Shouldn't take too long..." She said, yawning, and standing up.
"That was the plan" ace said as he walked up an slipped into his jeans and plaid shirt the max had said he looked wierd in about a week Ago
Max chuckled and shook her head, seeing what Ace was wearing, then trotted over to the dresser, where her coat and overalls had been brought up by the cleaning robots, freshly laundered. She threw the overalls into her saddlebags in the corner of the room, and put on the coat, before kissing Ace's cheek. "Alright, see you in a little while then. She said, smiling. She left the room, and headed to the intercom system at the nurses station, calling all the ponies to the doctor's lounge once more.
Snow was the first to arrive "Morning max" she said before rain jack and jessy came in after her Ace then walked past all of them and went to the basement.....witch was another place they should stay out off
"Good morning... Snow," Max replied, struggling to remember their names. Once they were all there, she explained that she and Ace would be busy for several hours, and asked them to look into farming a small number of crops inside the hospital; asking what materials they'd need, and how long it might take. "Once you've made a list of everything we need, and a plan for exactly where and how it will be done, please come and find me," She concluded, before nodding, and leaving to find Ace.
All the ponies looked at jessy Him being the most experienced in farming "Ah hell" he said with his ears flattening right before max left Ace was finishing some coding on the mane frame an had just finished when max walked in "You done max?"
"Yes; depending on how good that pony really is at farming, they should be occupied for a few hours, or all day," Max replied, with a small smile. "Have you rerouted those robots?" She asked, trotting over to him, and looking at the terminal screen uncomprehendingly.
Max smiled. "Alright then, follow me." She said, standing, and heading out of the basement. She headed into the lobby, then took the lift to the third floor, and lead Ace to one of the treatment rooms. This room was different from most of the others, in that it had no windows, just the soft glow of the electrical lighting. The centre of the room was taken up buy a large machine, a bit like the mainframe in the basement, only cleaner, and sleeker. It had a terminal, and two chairs, facing each other, with helmets, attached to the machine by a series of wires. "Take a seat and get comfortable Ace," Max said, trotting over to the machine, and tapping away at the terminal, "When you're ready, put that helmet on, and we'll begin."
Ace walked over and sat down as he shakily sighed and put the helmet on He then nodded to her that he was ready
Max nodded back, and put her own helmet on, sitting down, before hitting a final key with her magic. The machine's base glowed a bright blue and hummed as it came to life, then both ponies were transported into Ace's mind...
"Get down!" A pony yelled before and explosion happend behind him and shredded his back causing him to fly over ace and max dead The first memory was of aces first battle and he looked like he was freaking out He looked younger too...maybe mid teens
Max looked around, disoriented; this wasn't at all like the book described it! She saw Ace though, and tried to focus on what was happening to him, telling herself that whatever was happening couldn't hurt her.
"Come on we need to advance!" A pony yelled before he an several others began running out of the trench and accrossed the no ponies land Ace shakily put his sniper on the edge of the trench and aimed Slowly begining to calm as he aimed Several explosions later the ponies in no ponies land were dead or dying in agony Ace sighed and began to calm down even more before he began to shoot
Max watched sympathetically, not wanting to interrupt. The machine was originally meant for therapists, helping returning soldier ponies deal with PTSD, but she was no psychiatrist. She just hoped these were memories Ace wanted back...
Then and explosion happened next to ace and the memory changed This time it was....high school? Ace and a mare were standing in an empty hallway The mare was kissing him and he was pinned agenst the lockers suprised
