'Ello there. I'm Lex, I'm a programmer and makes games, but are too lazy to finish anything. Coming straight from MyLittleGameDev, I thought this place to be a good alternative, with some more active possibilities to mingle, just in general, and to get some input on whatever I might be working on. Sitting in an echo chamber of game developers doesn't really help the process of making stuff suitable for the average derps, after all. Oh well, enough of the rambling. Ya'll have a good one now, while I go see what the word on the street is!
Welcome and Greeting~ Always nice to see an new member to the community. Honestly, there really have been enough fresh faces that have stayed long enough... Though, I do hope you stay a while with us~
SFML, as of late, 2D stuff. It's more of a library with the basic tools of loading resources and rendering for an engine, so I suppose I'm pretty much reinventing the wheel, making my own engine architecture thing. I get to delve under the hood of your average 2d engine, It's all good fun!
We'll see what happens! I mere stumbled upon this place, reading on some drama about mlpforums, this place got mentioned as an alternative. Not that I ever were on mlpforums, but I thought, why not, I could need a community to bounce ideas off of.
MLP Forums is great as long as you never disagree with the moderators. The mods over there are notorious for abusing their power.
Ooooh, MLP Forums. It's one of the more successful but also talk about as one of the Black Sheep of the forum communities. Not everything about about what is said is true, but drama can happen there. I've seen some people here here who hate that site for personal reasons. Two that I know of really haven't been active lately. In anycase, Everypony is better if you are looking for community and fun. A lot of the members here are nice and quarky in their own ways. Most of the more active members haunt the Forum Games section. Though, there is plenty more to do on here than just that. We got art, rps, and discussions ranging from MLP to IRL talks about world events. So I've heard. I've keep my nose pretty clean while on there, so I really didn't deal with the mods much. I honestly don't go on there enough anymore to care what the staff do. Though some members of MLPF are jerks too. Then again, it comes with the territory with as popularly known as it is.
Welcome to Everypony! Enjoy your stay here! I never liked MLPF, it was too crowded for me and the staff there can be petty.
WoooOOOooOOOOooOOoo! I'm a forum game ghost! x3 Never been on MLPF, so I can't really compare, but I like this forum, so I hope you hang around and enjoy yourself here!
Ooo. Game engine dev. I wad messing around with engine architecture just yesterday, actually. Finally settled on how I was going to do message passing. Regardless, welcome!
MLP Forums sounds a lot like another particular site (FA) I belong to, with the power-hungry staff members. Regardless, I can tell you this... Everypony is a great place to be! You'll meet tons of friendly faces, enjoy some nice discussions with other members, and if roleplaying is your thing, by all means! I'm wholly unspectacular at developing some things for games and whatnot, as I mostly just deal with various heads-up displays and coding them in little by little using Action Script Coding (ACS), a form of coding that was originally found in Hexen, and has been greatly expanded upon to this day. Hello there, and welcome to the site! We all hope you enjoy your stay with us!
Well, I wouldn't say that I'm locked on engine development, but I'm a control freak like that, and want to know what happens under the hood, and with an easy library to work with, like SFML, it's a nice opportunity to give it a go, and make something working. Main loop, resource managers and all that jazz! It's probably just gonna end up being my go-to code base for whatever game ideas I might have in store. Most recently I've had the idea of a Daring Do point and click adventure buzzing around my head, for the last couple of months, so that is probably gonna be the first project for the engine, when it's ready for the action. How wacky. We all had to start somewhere, after all. Oh and Cheers, you all!
Heh. I haven't used SFML much outside of DSFML (SFML bindings for D. How unexpected.) although it's much less painful than trying to deal with GL directly. Nonsense aside, best of luck in your point and click adventures!
Hello and Welcome to this forum. I think you'll discover that this forum is pretty decent. I don't think you'll encounter anything on here like you did elsewhere. In a good way. Keep up with the show as well too if you can.
Salutations! Enjoy your stay here, and get comfortable... BECAUSE YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE. Sorry, what?
