Max frowned with concern, and trotted quickly over to the bed, scanning her with her horn. "You're not dying," She said, firmly, sitting on the bed and placing a hoof on her shoulder. She cast a powerful pain relief spell, and hugged her as it took effect. "Now, tell me what's happening, sweetie..." She said, softly stroking her mane.
"And have you been taking the medicine I gave you, like I prescribed?" Max asked, still stroking her mane, but giving her a questioning look.
"Hmm?" Max questioned, looking over at the bedside table, and spotting the nearly full bottle. She shook her head a little, and chuckled lightly, before kissing Jay's forehead. "I love you Jay, but you have to learn to listen to me; I only want what's best for you~" She floated the bottle over, along with a spoon. "Now come on, let me see you take it,"
Max let her go and smiled. "Well, it's either swallow something nasty, or feel like this again; sometimes life doesn't give us nice options, love." She said, quietly.
she made a disgusted face as she swallowed she then leaned agenst max "cant you make it taste better mom?" she asked
Max smiled apologetically. "Sorry sweetie, but sugar destroys the active ingredient. It's the only way it can taste, and I don't want to give you anything stronger." She explained. She sat with her for a little while longer, gently cuddling, then kissed her cheek. "I have to go now, Jay. Try and get some rest, and take two more spoonfuls if you start to feel uncomfortable again. You know we're just nextdoor if you need us." She gave her a final squeeze, then stood and headed back to her and Ace's room.
jay smiled and nodded before grabbing a book and began reading ace was sleeping in the bed when max walked in
Max smiled, and took off her coat before carefully slipping into bed next to him, trying not to wake him. She sighed tiredly, and wrapped her hooves around him to cuddle.
Max smiled slightly, nuzzling back as she drifted off to sleep. It had been a long day, but a productive one, and she felt good about tomorrow for the first time in a long time.
Max yawned and stretched, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. She looked around and frowned when she realised she was alone. "Ace?" She called, sitting on the edge of the bed.
Yawning, she stood up, a concerned frown still sitting on her brow. She headed to the bathroom, to wash her face and to see if Ace could be found there.
