Max smiled slightl as Ace took her hoof, and then smiled a bit more as they stepped outside. It had stopped snowing, but the ground was still covered in a soft white layer, about a hoof thick. It hid the decay and destruction of the last few decades, and almost made the town look like some of the pictures of Hearth Warming's Eve Max had seen as a filly. "It's beautiful..." She whispered, her breath misting in the cold air, and her pipbuck ticking very slowly at the faintly glowing snow underhoof.
"ya.....but its still nothing compaired to canterlots winter streets" as said remembering his one time he visited the capital that they both saw in his memories the other day "but im sure snow didnt glow before" he said as he heard the clicking from theyre pipbucks as the made hoof prints in the snow as they walked to the outskirts of town
"No, but I think that might actually add to the beauty," Max said, still smiling as she looked around. "We should probably take these though," She said, after a couple of minutes, pulling a bottle of rad-x out of her bags, "The radiation's very weak, but we don't want to take any chances."
ace magicly took a few of the small pills and popped them in his mouth "good thing jays inside" ace said as they walked they were now almost there
"Yes, part of me wishes I was," Max replied, shivering a bit as she took her pills. "There, that seems like a good spot," She said, a few minutes later, pointing at a small park. The trees were dead, and the small pond had a a rainbow slick on the surface, but it still had a kind of beauty.
ace pulled her closer "we need to find you some better clothing for this type of weather" ace said as he cleared the snow "or jay will be the one taking care of you"
Max pressed against him and helped clear the snow with her magic. "Yes, I think you may be right," She admitted, smiling sheepishly, "Perhaps we should look for a clothes shop or something before we look for the raiders?"
"I was thinking the laundry room again...we found jays pony heart coat there and that's a winter coat" ace said as they got to the dirt and dug six holes
"Mmm, but then we'd have to go back to the hospital," Max said, placing one of the urns in a hole, "And while we're out here and it's snowy, it'll be easier to track the raiders, right?"
"I was thinking..." Max said, as the finally finished burying the last urn, "This tranquillizer I have, it has to be applied via syringe, meaning we need to get within hoof distance of the raider to incapacitate them. If we could find a veterinary clinic, they may have a dart gun; they used them before the war to tranquillize dogs, but I could make darts to take down ponies. It would be much safer for us and the subject."
Ace sat there thinking "Honestly that's what I thought we already had" he said with a small blush forming on his cheeks "So I guess we need to find you clothes and a vet" he said hoping she could remember from her own past where that was
Max chuckled a little. "Oh no; I was expecting you to wrestle our raider to the ground while I jabbed this in their neck," She explained, pulling the syringe out of her pocket. She carefully put it back, then tapped her chin in thought. "Well... clothes stores shouldn't be too hard to find; there were quite a few in town, but the veterinary clinic... I remember taking my pet turtle there when I was a filly, there were trees, and a statue of Fluttershy, the Ministary mare, so it must have been near a park..."
Max nodded, blushing slightly. "My foalhood hero was Rainbow Dash, and she once had a pet tortiose called tank. Mom couldn't get me a tortoise, so she got me a turtle instead. I called him bucket." She smiled at the memory.
ace smiled and nuzzled her cheek "you dont need to be embarest" he told her before he looked up and saw a clothing store "i guess its a good thing it was fall when the bombs hit and not the middle of summer....other wise we'd only be able to find you bikinis" he said with a mischevious smile
Max tolled her eyes and smiled. "Oh yes, I'm sure you're just devistated about that," She replied, trotting over to the store. The front doors had been chained shut from inside, and the windows were shuttered, but Max spotted a side door in the alley beside the store. She tried it, but couldn't open it either. "Hmm... maybe you can force it?" She suggested, looking at Ace.
Ace was sitting by the front door still with his ear to the door and his horn glowing He had his eyes closed and he looked to be concentrating After a minute if sitting there they heard some heavy chains fall to the ground and ace sat back up strait panting a bit from the magical strain
"Zebras would chain up doors from the other side" he said panting "so we had to learn how to get the chains off from where we were" he continued as he leaned back It had taken a lot out of him to do that "Normaly it's a group of four that would do that"
