Max chuckled quietly as they followed the robopony down a very clean corridor. "Well maybe if you ask this Chief Administrator nicely, he'll give you one," She whispered back, winking.
The robopony finally stopped outside a door, and scanned the little console beside it on the wall. As it opened, the robopony gestured for them to enter. Inside was an office much like the doctor's offices at the hospital, and behind the desk sat another robopony; it was more pony-like than the ones outside, being mare-shaped and painted in white enamal, it had yellow eyes, and even translucent black fibres for a short mane and tail. "Ow can I elp you?" The robopony asked, sounding like a mare from Prance, and smiling warmly.
"I'm...yes...we're from the hospital acrossed town and we need a device we are under the assumption of your ownership" ace said as he tryed not to gawk again
Max smiled at Ace's attempts not not stare, and trotted towards the desk, offering her hoof. "Our names are Max and Ace, Ma'am, nice to meet you." The robomare smiled back, and shook Max's offered hoof. "It iz a pleazure," She replied, softly, "to ave guests. I am a Medical Assisitanze Robotic Artificial Equine; or Marae, if you prefer." She sat back down, and gestured to the two seats opposite her desk. "Now, what iz zis device you require?"
Ace sat down "It's kind of like a dart gun if I was told correctly" he said looking at max to be sure he was correct
Max nodded. "Yes, for remote tranquillization," She confirmed, looking from Ace to Marae. "And why iz it you need zis, if you don't mind my asking?" The robopony asked, frowning slightly. "There are... some bad ponies," Max explained, slowly, not sure how much the robopony understood about the outside world, "I think they are doing what they are doing because they are ill, so I want capture one and attempt to treat them." "I see..." Marae said, slowly, seeming to process the information.
Brave sat there waiting He was ready to pull his guns if need be but was otherwise relaxed to everypony else
"We currently 'ave six tranquillizer dart guns in our inventory," Marae said, finally, "Zey 'ave not been used in 19.8 years; I beleive we can spare one wizout compromising efficiency." A small light on her chest flashed, presumably indicating that she'd sent out a signal to another of the roboponies. "It will be 'ere shortly." She said, smiling again, but almost seeming slightly uncertain... "May I just azsk..." She began, hesitantly, "What are you doing at ze hospital?"
"Well...." Ace began "Do you know about how the world was blown up?" He asked hoping it Did Cause that would make the explanation sound better
The robopony sighed and nodded slowly. "Oui, I am aware of what fate 'az befallen Equestria. Ze alarms were raised, and protecols followed, but after zat, we lost all communication. I av simply been maintaining zis facility since then."
"Well were using the hospital to make a settlement..........why did you want to know about the hospital?" Ace said
"Well... I waz wondering if I could 'elp?" Marae replied, somehow looking shy, "I am programmed to assist ponies, but I 'ave not been able too for so long. It makes me sad..." Her ears even folded back as she spoke. Max looked at Ace, her eyes silently pleading him to let the robopony help.
"And how can you help?" He asked He was going to say yes eather way but he wanted to know what she brought to the table
"Well I 'ave extensive medical knowledge in my databanks," Marae explained, "I may 'ave been assigned to a veterinary clinic, but I am also programmed to take care of equine patients. Zis facility and it's staff could also be of use to you, I am sure." "Why would you offer us all of this?" Max asked, softly. "Az I said before," Marae said with a sad smile, "My programming az prevented me from 'elping anypony for the last two decades, but if you request my assistance, it will overwrite that programme, and I will be free to 'elp once more."
"Ok" ace said "But you should wait till we can tell the others before going there....don't want them freeking out"
"Oui!" Marae said, shaking her head enthusiastically, "Perhaps if I 'elp you with your current mission, it will earn their trust?" Max looked at Ace and smiled slightly. "Actually, this could be the perfect place for my experiment; secure, clean, and remote from the hospital, so there will be no danger to the others..."
Max frowned slightly and cocked her head, looking back at him. "Worried? About what?" She asked, quietly, "I meant my experiment with the raiders; this would be the perfect place to hold and isolate them while I try and see if I can cure them."
