It's hit the 70 degree mark (at least) every winter where I've lived since at least 2001. I remember in that year thinking it was weird, but now it's like "Again? Come on, can't it be cold and we save that for Spring?" The meteorologists still act like it's something that never happens, though.
Where I'm from it's currently 45 degrees. Which is quite chilly, and there still is no snow. So it still feels like fall to me.
When it's 65 down here, people start putting on winter coats and whining about the cold. I don't, because I'm not a *squee!*ING WUSS like these idiots.
They do it where I live, too, even though it's been down to -20 here. It's ridiculous when our winter is so mild and most of it is spent in the 50s/60s for highs and people are walking around "When will Spring come? I'm so ready!", and then when it starts flurrying outside "Oh, when will it ever stop snowing?!". God, I don't belong in this region of the country, I swear.
I just kinda wish Mother Nature would make up her mind. Is it going to snow or is it going to rain? For godsakes, we had severe thunderstorms over here last new years before this past one. I think Winter is pretty much non-existent here 98% of the time.
It has been unseasonably warm here so far this winter; we had daffodils flowering before Christmas, but we've had a couple of cold weeks too. It's not Global Warming though; that's when the average temperature of the whole planet raises by a tiny amount over the course of a year, and stays there, this is just warm year. It happens.
Yeah. It's funny how people instantly jump to 'Global Warming' when we don't get snow when we are suppose to. We didn't get snow in December?! It must be Global Warming!! lol I go by the belief that the weather is controlled by the spiritual forces of Mother Nature. And she decides who gets the weather they deserve. It kinda adds to the unpredictably factor, but weather is unpredictable.
Where I am, there was 2 weeks of decent snow in early January. Then it started to get warmer, so much that I can go out without a jacket. It's like spring these days. And then again, forecast is for snow on Wednesday.
We have it. I know because it made me have my first car accident. Luckily all I did was hit the curb really hard, but it still did decent damage to my car to the point that ate up almost $200 of my new debit card. I HATE IT.
It was 11 degrees in Arizona at one point... a real scorcher, right? I think global warming the way the media and politicians bicker about it is a load of crap. I think they even blamed the actions of ISIS on it so yeah, science and stuff. Screw winter. I break out in hives in the cold.
