(is this what i think it is? OH MY GOD! Please tell me its not too late to sign up! Where do i sign up?)
Cobalt at the temple on the other side of town, far away from any commerce. How the gems could stay hidden from these humans for so long was beyond him, much less these few who managed to integrate.
Taking her soda, she was sort of annoyed by the question. Apparently the fact her jewel was hidden wasn't enough to hide what she was. Well thanks to a misclick online she had a reasonable answer to try and dissuade the woman from her assumption. "I don't know what you're talking about. But if you think I'm some sort of alien, you're wrong. While green skin is uncommon, thanks to a battle of polymorphic sentient rocks in earth's past certain odd elements were released into the atmosphere causing random mutations of the human genome. If you think I'm strange you must have missed the kid with the onion shaped head."
"Polymorphic Sentient Rocks? You mean Gems. Quit hiding it." Cobalt replied tersely. "No use hiding it, we know who you are."
Onyx was being lazy again, lying down on the deck of Beach City. She was in Cat form since, she didn't want to scare anyone in town about another Gem almost destroying Beach City. She then heard commotion and looked, seeing a Green Lady and a group of other Human-ish looking people. Butshe had to make sure that they weren't just conversing with each other. Time to play the cute card. She got up as she approached the green lady and leaned on her leg, purring and meowing as she did figure eights in between the Green Lady's legs.
(Wait how can you hear the commotion if you're on the beach and we're in the donut shop? I've seen no indication we're being loud.) "You know nothing about me." Back up plan. This was going to hurt. It took a lot of concentration to pull off what she was going to do and even more not to show that she was concentrating. She took out a piece of paper and made a small cut of the palm of her hand. Blood came slowly oozing out. "See red blood, not green, not blue, red. I am human. Now if you excuse me I'm leaving." As she left the store she felt that should convince them. Gem don't bleed. Normally they couldn't change color either. Such fine shapeshifting was something she mastered for her magic but the amount of contraction was painful and she was going to need to find some place to rest. Taking a bandiad out of her pocket she covered up the wound. She didn't want to release the illusion till she was out of immediate site of her accusers.
(Eh, just go with it. The characters need to meet somehow.) Moonstone backed slowly away from the crazy lady who had just answered a simple question by cutting herself. She glanced at the Gems with her, and whispered, "Okaaaay... what the heck was that about?"
She saw the Green lady cut herselfwith paper, which shouldn't really be possible.well, not possible enough to make your hand bleed out.and apparently the cat card didn't work. Hm. She sat down in front of the others and looked up at them, listening in on the conversation. "I think theres something up with that lady..." she said under her breath, but forgot that she was in front of others so she spoke just loud enough for the human-ish people to hear her.
"Right? No reason to hide your identity among your peers." Cobalt realized the irony in this statement, as he was a feared oppressor among the rebellion types, yet these gems didn't know. "Probably a shape shifter. I've seen gems disguised as humans during the war. Not just humanoids, but human skin, gem was hidden, they even shed human blood, like that one."
(Maybe oozing was the wrong word. It was just a simple papercut bleed. What's impossible about that?) (Aren't all Gems shape shifters? But I've never seen them change color. Mal is a Magician, so I kind of took a little liberty cause she practices illusions)
(Yeah, they can shapeshift, but some are likely better than others, as with anything. Amethyst shape shifts pretty often, for example. But maybe using it in this situation was a bad idea, forgot about the magician thing.) Cobalt looked down at the tabby, who just spoke. "For Diamond's sake! More gems? There HAS to be something drawing us here." He said, projecting his voice torwards the cat. "Go on with it, change into your normal form!"
"Fine, be that way." Moonstone transformed herself into a large blue St. Bernard, and gave the cat/Gem a large slobbery lick before changing herself back. "I'm going to keep doing that until you change. I'm curious now."
"OH GROSS! Why did i deserve that?!" everyone in the store seemed relatively calm anout the whole situation. Except for the Tourists who were taking pictures and filming the scene with loose hanging Jaws. "Oh great. You got all the attention of Tourists...now EVERYONE can know that we're alien rocks! Now all of us can be Internet Celebrities! HOORAY!" she said with strong sarcasm as she stayed in Cat form and winced at all the flashing camera lights.
