Community Post #156 I'm looking at a very bored month ahead of me. In a month, me and a few peeps are going to go to BUCK to represent Everypony.com. This is the last year the convention will be running because, quite obviously, it's bleedin' exhausting for them. They've already shifted the convention back to April 2016 this time to not only avoid Manchester Gay Pride but also to get more of a rest. Honestly, after attending every single one as a guest running an event, I don't blame them in the slightest. I'd be about 20kg lighter and have the constitution of terminally ill jelly. I'm lucky I only have to lug a suitcase full of game consoles and TV's on various trains to get to Manchester. So, yes! In a month, I'll be around in Manchester for one weekend only. And, it's possibly the last time. Which is a shame, as I will miss my yearly holiday up north. There's plenty there we've done. The first year, Everypony turned up to play some tunes and have a little sit down chat with anyone interested. I remember we turned on 'Call Upon the Seaponies' just as a group exited from one of the many, many panels that were going on. The looks of bemusement and mild disgust were fun to watch. Then there was the year I ran a Smash Bros tournament. I have never spent so long running around a building in my life. Seriously, I never expected to see so many people sign up. And then of course, I spend a good couple of hours trying my hardest to keep it all running, mostly by myself. Though, I did have a techy with me from the BUCK staff that I don't think I ever got the name of. So, I'm dashing backwards and forwards, trying to keep the small legion of eager players happy, while also managing a bunch of extra consoles on free play and keeping track of a tournament table. Pretty much this for hours on end. Thank Celestia I had help the second time I ran that thing. For seven hours, we were deafened by people flooding into this massive room in Manchester Central. This huge room was lined with consoles, some of mine and the rest being from Anime League who were also there for reasons that were never made clear to me. They'd brought a truck full of consoles and I had my relatively poultry collection. Though, I still had Smash and prizes on offer. I even had Foxytail and NeoShadow Zac helping me out. Which was a godsend as I, again, would spend the whole time rushing back and forth like a bloody idiot looking for the next contestant so we could keep things going. Though, with a Seven Hour, I repeat SEVEN HOUR, time slot, we weren't exactly in too much of a hurry, I guess. Me and Foxy were completely worn down after all that. Half deaf from the constant noise, shattered from keeping on top of everything and assuredly ready for bed. Though, I did hear things about our partners in this Anime League. I heard stories about Anime League never hosting their own tournaments and leaving early without clearing up after themselves or acting like complete asses to the staff. I couldn't verify anything at all. They seemed affable to me. Even offering me and Foxy a place in their own convention. Which we turned down because we couldn't afford anything after BUCK so soon. An Artists Impression of anyone that has to do convention event things for longer than two hours. Let alone seven. Though, I do remember that year for how much me and Foxy got to do. We were counted as full guests of the whole shebang. We were in the same places as most of the musicians and such that were there. Mic the Microphone, General Mumble, Wooden Toaster and so on. Kinda surreal to be in there with the rest of the horse famous when we were there to put on a little competition with some old game consoles. What was also fun was wondering wherever we liked because we could. At the Summer Sun Celebration, we wondered into the performers area and looked around, just to see what was happening. My memory is hazy of that night because it might have been the night we arrived in Manchester. I remember balloons. Yeah, whatever you do, don't try to sleep on a coach. Me and foxy had a several hour journey through the wee hours of the night in complete misery. We didn't have any proper rest until we reached the hotel. The seats were like rocks and while we thought we'd nabbed the best seats because they had more legroom, we'd picked the ones in front of the dodgy chemical toilet. It was like cuddling up to an exposed sewer line for over two hours. Manchester couldn't have come quick enough. This year should be just as good as last year. I've got more people helping me (Hello Phoenix, Zac, Foxy and Amy!) and I've got more to offer. It's the last year so we need to go out with a bang. We've got a huge stint to do as well, making it one of the longest running events of the entire convention. It's going to be exhausting but we had a blast every time we've done it so, why not? Every year I wonder in an go 'Yis! Dis is meh peepol!". Every year, I get funny looks when I say it like that. Unless the BUCK team come back with some other project and ask us to come back. We'd be interested, for sure. It's fun sitting around and playing games with strangers. Strangely enough. It's a weird thing but I like being helpful at conventions. Sometimes, I get an urge to do things rather than sit around. Anyway, I found some old footage I took from BUCK #1. This is a few years ago now when this was all brand new. I always planned to make it into a video diary of sorts but I hate trying to start a video editing project. It's so fiddly, it just frustrates me. Probably why I make more written reviews. Still, here's to the next BUCK. It's just until then I have to be good with the pennies or I can't afford it. So, I'm going to be rather bored for a while... Ho hum...Let's see if you can liven things up. - Site News Please welcome Berry Punch back to the Everypony Team as a moderator. Berry is a long standing, on again, off again member that has decided to roll back into the staff of the site. Please, give him a welcome hug or brohoof. Before we look at the rest of the site, I'd like to bring your attention to our little competition for a new theme design. Yes! It's not only still going but it's now gotten a bigger prize bundle in it! Isn't that something? Check it out then get your creative juices flowing! Preferably onto a canvas of some kind. Cleaning that up can be a real chore. - Recommended Reading I do like a good thread all about speculation. Doesn't matter if you know absolutely nothing because so does everyone else. This thread by Flying Colours, is about Dark Magic and it's effects. Good topic man! Maybe I should do something like that. It's try to research Dark Magic in Equestria or get intimate with my Netflix menu...Hmm... Here's a Question: Would anyone actually like this? Like, a widget or something? I'm not saying it would be a definite thing but we'd look into it. Alex376 has another instrumental cover. For those interested in them, here it be! Does Flying Colours have some sort of ambition to get on the Community Post as often as possible? Because I kinda liked this drawing of Fluttershy going nutsoid. It's a technical term. For going completely loopzoid. Blackened Blue is reviewing game music, apparently. Neat! This time, Resident Evil Nemesis! Lastly, a mystery for any budding sleuth. Or maybe, for a fortune teller. Welp! I'm going to go Marathon Jacob's Creek! I need something to keep myself relatively sane. Netflix is all I have left!
