So now that the crusaders have what they have worked their little tails off for, looks like Apple Bloom is having a bit of an existential crisis!! I kinda figured all of them would but it makes sense that it was her since she made the biggest deal out of it before. And she made a new friend in the process. OK, tidbits now!! Tree Hugger!!!!! Andy Warhol pony!!! Overall: 7/10
I quite enjoyed it. Applebloom's song was pretty good as well. Also, did anyone notice how detailed Zecora's hut was? Spoiler DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!
This was a pretty good episode. I enjoyed Applebloom's song a lot. It felt great to see another pony find his cutie mark. Can't wait for another CMC adventure! Overall, I'd give it 8/10.
So... yeah... *insert warning here?* Spoiler Wow. Once again, there's not really much for me to say about this episode. To be completely honest... this was the kind of episode I was hoping for once the CMC got their cutie marks. Them struggling on what they're supposed to do now that they have them. So this was just the perfect episode. Admittedly I was worried the CMC would basically have no purpose once they received their cutie marks but this episode showed me that I was sorely mistaken. Bulk Biceps made this funny quite hilarious. There were other funny moments too. Like when they tried to find stuff to do together and kept failing at it. Not surprising, Apple Bloom struggling to find something to do on her own led to her finding the problem they needed to assist in. I actually kind of like that they're helping other ponies either find their cutie marks or help them determine their cutie marks true meaning. Most CMC episodes have been kind of 'iffy' for me but that may possibly change now and I may actually start to like them more now. Also... inb4 people ship Apple Bloom with that performing colt. Either way... this was quite the surprisingly decent CMC episode.
A couple thoughts on this... For Applebloom: The pony who was going to be an exterminator is allergic to bees? Wasn't there an old episode that had a bee land on her muzzle? That episode is now terrifying for her. Scootaloo has a brother? Dancing pony is totally her brother. Lots of artists like painting Tree Hugger: After Warhol showed up, we have Dali, Picasso, and Da Vinci in the background. And there was an awful lot of staring at flanks today... NTTAWWT.
I liked the episode. It's nice to see the CMC growing up and moving on, and it's really nice to see that the series seems to be getting back to its roots with slice-of-life storytelling.
I liked the moral and development for the CMC. Always glad to see an original writer's work, Dave Polsky has written some of my favorites. My only complaint is how utterly forgettable the song was, especially considering that it was the first to kick off the season. Also, I ship Applebloom with Tender Taps (the dancing colt).
I can't say this episode left much of an impact for me. Yay, more Apple Bloom worrying about cutie marks, special talents and with no idea what to do with her life. Haven't we seen episodes like this already?
