Well, I enjoyed it. Don't have any references to point out but I don't really think I need to. This episode seemed to do just fine on its own. Nice to see there is one other level-headed dragon out there!! Overall: 7/10
It happened. After five long seasons, it finally happened. A Spike episode... that was actually good.
Where were all the actually large dragons aside from the Dragon Lord? Like the green one that lives in the Everfree Forest or the red one that Fluttershy stared down? There were large dragons in the migration episode... Maybe he was like Dragon Lord (of the local dragon high school) or something...
Where's M.A. Larson when you need him? Maybe he was just lord of that particular dragon clan. ... Oh, I almost forgot... WHERE THE HELL WAS CRACKLE!?
Hi. Yeah it's me again. You should all know the mantra by now. Spoiler This is starting to become a trend now. I'm unsure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Either way... I once again don't really have much to say about this one. First off, it may have only been for a few moments, but, I liked seeing Princess Luna and Princess Celestia. BEST. Now... on to the episode... It was good to see the Dragonlands again. Twilight may... get giddy when to comes to stuff she doesn't know and the idea of finding out more (which is always funny ) but she was right. There isn't a lot known about dragons and it was good to see it expanded on further. Of course... that also meant jerk Garble again. But stuff kept happening to him in this episode that was freaking GREAT. He kept getting hurt and stuff. Let me talk about Ember for a moment now. That name is actually familiar. Because it was used in the Spyro series. She also reminds me of a Spyro character as well. Named Cynder. (Yes, I'm aware of the Spyro series because I pretty much watched all of the games on YouTube in Let's Play format) which I actually kind of liked... This episode was actually pretty decent. It's rare to get a decent Spike episode and this was one. It was good to see more dragons and their 'characters.' It became cute with the relationship of Spike and Ember and Ember not wanting to be friends but not reporting Twilight and Rarity to the other dragons. I mean it wasn't 'outstanding' or 'amazing' or 'extraordinary' but I still quite liked this episode. SPIKE WON. ALL HAIL DRAGON LORD SPIKE. GARBLE HUMILIATION. That one dragon liked the hug too. NO WAIT. DON'T LEAVE THE GROUP. The ending wasn't exactly surprising but still good. A decent Spike episode IMO. But that's just me. Yep...
A good Spike episode! Yay! Pretty predictable, when Ember said "I don't need friends!" my immediate reaction was "Didn't you even see the title of the show you're in?" Still good fun though. That said I would like to see her in a future episode, maybe engaged in some dragon-pony diplomatic summit.
Latecomer to the episode. Imma give my thoughts anyway. Spoiler: Man that was a good episode. WATCH IT!!! Seriously, though, it was good. First of all, loved the insight into dragon "culture" and "government." I had a few chuckles. Torch was an okay character. He felt less like a villain and more like a comic relief antagonist. Garble getting his comeuppance was just glorious. In the wise words of Benjamin Chang, "Ha! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!" Ember, tho... She's so tsundere it's cute. Spike was meh, like normal. Rara and Twily made me laugh too. I could hug them. Oh, hello Luna and Tia. Nice of you to drop by. Overall, decent. Flutter Brutter's still the best episode I've seen this season, tho, followed by Newbie Dash. I guess Gauntlet of Fire is number 3? Oh, and hello, Harry Potter reference. Did you think you'd slip by me unnoticed?
