I don't think there even are a lot of active pony sites left~ The fandom is definitely past it's prime.
This is true. I was active at other forums while my account was dormant here, but they were either rotten from the get-go, or they eventually degenerated to such a point. I am not too familiar with Everypony's history, but I am pleased that I have not seen those negative attributes around here.
Sometimes... It feels good to 'Rage Against the Machine,' 'Fight the System,' 'Fight the Power' or whatever you want to call it. Either way... I guess it's my new 'Equestrian Dreamers' now. But like before... I'm not leaving unless I'm forced out.
I haven't been there for years, so I am unaware of the exact details (I don't want to return to a site run in such a manner). At the time I was there, even the site owner effectively took their side. If this is true, I feel it is safe to assume that this change of policy was done for purely opportunistic reasons. I reiterate that many online brony communities are trainwrecks; they were either rotten from the get-go, or they degenerated to such a point.
wanted to say that canterlot.com is to a point too kid friendly, so, any sort of almost loaded comment can land you 1 warning at least, but the members outside mods are nice...
Oh right, one other thing about both Canterlot.com and MLPForums. They're both extremely hostile and dishonest to anyone who has received warnings or a ban. For instance, if you've received a warning or ban without reason (which happens a lot) the mods will always act as if you don't deserve to be heard. If it's a warning, the best that happens is you're told to just make sure not to do anything wrong and it won't matter (at worst you'll receive more warnings for bothering the mods about it). In the case of a ban, they seem to take sport in heckling and misleading you, offering to hear you out and then disappearing, telling you to send an appeal through channels that you're banned from, and sometimes actually attacking your character.
Well, it's very strict to its rules. PG-13 stays Pg-13. One mention of anything against the rules can earn a ban. I almost got banned for talking about something against the rules. I wasn't talking about the rules. I WAS SAYING THE TOPIC OF THE RULE. Spoiler: I have no idea if saying this is against this forum's rules, so I'll keep it in a spoiler box It was against the rules to mention anything NSFW. I literally said, "If anyone here's interested in NSFW rp, (name of person) is interested". I almost got banned. I didn't mention anything NSFW, but I said "NSFW".
I Know im a bit late to the party, but I will put this here for anyone asking the same question. The answer is no. Simply put no. The staff and owners are a clique. They only RP/interact with persons that have been in their personal circle for years. They do not admit anyone else into this circle. If you have something you need handled, its better to just put a bullet in your PC. That aside, their discord server is under the same thing, with the exception that there are a few ppl there that arent on the site so much. The two in charge of it all (I wont name them) are about as friendly and useful as a live landmine. One sits on their throne, literally backhanding anyone with a different idea of how things work, while putting no regulations on how staff should act or how they decide things (literally every staff member is allowed to do what they please provided they worship the two owners) The other just sits and posts images to the discord server of waifu porn all day. The staff can be divided into three groups. Polite but useless, Useful but moronic, and finally Power mad & despicable. The two that are polite have either no ability/knowledge to do anything or are unmotivated to help but want you to think they are trying. The useful but moronic two actually do stuff when you pressure them, but typically dont know what they are doing or cant be bothered to do it right the first time. The rest fall under the final category and seem to enjoy making life hell for anyone that disagrees with them. They have little to no interest in actually making a community that works and promotes good relations between members, they simply want to sit in their castle and play their own games. Their discord server is worse, given that they literally let two people run around doing as they please, and when someone complains they get slapped. Another seems to delight in insinuating to anyone that they think might be the least bit better than them, that they are garbage and should be put out as such. If you imply in any way that they might be wrong they have a fit, turn it into a pity fest and then aim it back at you like you are comparable to (insert historical bad person here because I dont want to say it here.) Best thing I can tell you is this. Stay the hell away from that site, the discord server, and stay as far FAR away from the staff as you can get.
