California is FORCING Children to be up-to-date on all vaccinations or be punished article News Alert! California is now forcing children to be up-to-date on vaccinations as a state law. Refusal by any means results in schools having the right to not teach unvaccinated students and will be forced to be home schooled. The mandate vaccinations is part of the updated SB 277 rules. Children must be vaccinated with 40 doses of 10 different federally recommended vaccines. This open ended mandate allows the State of California to add new vaccines that children must have at anytime. The only exemption available is for medical exemption placed by doctors who have shown that the child is exempt from vaccinations of any kind under federal guidelines. See more on the issue via the link provided above.
they seem to be taking it a bit extreme. how accurate is the article though, it's hard to take it seriously as part way through it starts blaming vaccines for autism.
I don't think that this is extreme at all. Being unvaccinated is both dangerous to yourself and other people, and you should be treated as if you could be carrying a disease if you are not vaccinated, or planning to get vaccinated.
vaccines aren't perfect you know. The only part I find extreme is the amount of vaccination required, I agree about schools should mandate important vaccinations and other inaculations
Just want to say, last time I was vaccinated for Pneumonia I was hospitalized for a week which isn't supposed to happen.
Indeed. The asinine claims of "anti-vaxxers" have been debunked countless times (changes in diagnostic criteria are why more children are diagnosed with autism). Parents who refuse to vaccinate their children are willingly endangering their children and the people with legitimate reasons to not be vaccinated (allergic reactions and such). These parents should be charged with felony child endangerment. Instead of pulling these unvaccinated children out of schools, we need to strip their negligent parents of all custody rights (parenthood should be a privelege, not a right). It's high time we crush this anti-vaccination nonsense with an iron heel. It is a public health hazard. That article's credibility went down the drain when it suggested that such legislation essentially made the United States a "police state" that is only perhaps outdone by Nazi Germany.
Wow that original link was horribly biased. Here's a more fact based story: http://ww2.kqed.org/stateofhealth/2...es-california-senate-moves-to-governors-desk/ Here's an actual vaccination schedule: http://kidshealth.org/en/parents/immunization-chart.html# A quote from the article: And here's an article debunking the "too many shots thing" altogether: http://www.quackwatch.com/03HealthPromotion/immu/too_many.html It has actual references and facts, it's odd how those things work, huh? /sarcasm
I feel it is safe to assume that any article that assumes vaccines are responsible for autism is a bad article.
Glad we got the proper articles in here. Going from 0 to Godwin's law in under two hundred words is a sure fire way to find out who's not going to take this event calmly.
Interesting topic, I must say that I think vaccines should be required. When talking about side effects, like @Lord Architect who said what happened when they received them should show that its probably not pleasant to be sick with the virus, making yet another point why they should be required, in most cases once you get a sickness, your much less likely to get it again, hence why these are distributed even though there's a handful of people who get sick from these vaccines, like myself, or as mentioned earlier Lord Architect.
