Raven was chilling out at the park in Manehattan around noon, practicing a new song on her acoustic: Unforgiven. She'd been trying to relax. Maya, her adoptive mother, was working her new job at the bar, so she had plenty of time to herself. @Lyipheoryia
Nightingale moped around the park, sitting down on a park bench to rock out a new beat. A smaller-version of her official turntable was on her lap-a gift from a family friend. This carry-around was magic-powered, and she settled her headphones comfortably onto her ears. She bounced back and forth between beats, going up and down the volume and synths. She grumbled as some other annoying song settled into her head through her headphones. She sighed, before stopping her track. There-a mare practicing some...song...on an acoustic. She paused to listen, "Nice song~ Never heard it before-you made it up?"
"Sure did." She kept playing and glanced over at her turntable with a small smile. "You're a musician, too, huh?"
Raven nodded. "Yeah, just played a show at my mom's bar recently that got recorded. Been working on a studio album with Canterlot Records, too."
She gasped, "You work for the Canterlot Records?!" Mind blown. This metal mare was working with Canterlot Records? Even she wasn't at that level! Granted, she worked for an Equestrian-wide distributer and record, and build her fanbase on the underground music scene and Canterlot. Still...she was amazed~
She smiled, "You're one lucky mare," "I don't got no marefriend, but it's mighty cool that yours scored you a chance at that record label. Any chance I can hear one of your amazing songs?"
She smiled, "You've got a deal, mate," She gestured towards the acoustic, "Now show me what you've got!"
"Awesome.~ Here's a thing from a concept album I'm working on. From the villain's perspective. Not quite done, though." She expertly played a rather ominous riff on her acoustic, and sang through her song, throwing in some lyrics in a dead, archaic language: Spoiler In the mirror my reflection lies to me That is not the mare I want to see But every harvest takes me closer to my aim I will be there as soon as darkness falls My life is but a heartbeat away And all you ever had will soon belong to me [Chorus:] In morte ultima veritas You will bow before me And you will confess I'm your god Vincit veritas in omeni re Send me your prayers But death is the answer to life While you're wailings feed my anger I stay calm 'Cause I'm sure that you won't let me down Fading gently to the sound I can't forget And don't you know that when the music dies My life is but a heartbeat away And all you ever had will soon belong to me [Chorus x2]
She blinked. She stared, "That...was actually really good! Do the lyrics mean anything in particular to you?" She began to set up her station, plugging in a magic-powered launchpad to the turntable and changing the disk.
She grinned, "Love it! I'd betcha a hundred bits that hits the top charts for the Underground Music Scene," With that, she jammed her headphones over the head of her fellow musician, playing her beat, "Asiatic Winds". It started off with a soft, lulluby-leading onto the beating drums of Equestria's First Nation and folk ponies. It settled into techno and trap, before moving onto glitch hop and house. It landed on electro, slowly transitioning into ambiance and experimental-before giving an abrupt end with harsh noise. "Sorry about the ending...I'm still tryin' 'ta fix it,"
She nodded, "There's been a peaked interest lately in exploring different music styles-so this was my little...demo to see which ones I could and couldn't do. Are all your songs acoustic? I could see some hardcore djent or heavy metal fan nodding to your music,"
She nodded," Totally agree. That's why I have this-" she patted her mini turnatable,"-with me. Can't lug the big station around,"
