Jared kicked a guard back and backed off from the wall, deeper into the prison. A prisoner in a cell behind him grabbed him and pulled him into the bars. "Hey Jared, it's me!" He whispered into Jared's ear. "It's McGordon. What're you doing with pirates? Did you betray us?" Jared was startled by all this. "McGordon?" He whispered back. "I haven't betrayed you. I'm... undercover..." McGodon chuckled at that. "I'm on the verge of finding out where some lost treasure is. Probably worth millions. I need you to send the boss a letter or something whenever you can saying so. He needs to know this." "A-Alright then... It may take some time..." "Good. I'll send the boss more info whenever I can-" The blast startled them both and McGordon let go of Jared. Jared's head was pounding. He hurried over to where the dust settled. "Try not to send the whole place down on us next time..." He 'joked'
(It leads down to the docks.) Cobiah saw a canvas laid above a merchant's stall, and made a jump for the canvas. He landed a bit roughly, but was otherwise fine. "If you land on this canvas you should be fine!"
Jade slashed her dagger. "Ellia, you go next!" she said, knocking another guard out. The small girl nodded, and leapt from the hole, and she was followed by Jade.
Jared climbed into the hole and stood there before leaping. He stuck the landing onto the stall and rolled onto the floor, landing onto his stomach. He quickly got up. "I meant to do that..."
Cobiah scanned the rooftops for his scouts. He saw a dark silhouette against the skyline, who was carrying what must have been a mirror, as it was shining intensely. Cobiah popped the lens of his telescope out of it's lodging briefly, and signaled back. The dark shadow then stopped shining their light. Cobiah put his telescope back on his belt, as inconspicuously as possible. In a few moments, the scout would shoot a flare signalling the Seatone cruisers to ready themselves for sea.
Jade snickered at the landing, and looked back up at the hole. "Natalia, get everyone out! Hurry!" she called. She turned, and thought she saw a bright light over the horizon, but when she blinked, it was gone." (I'm going to assume Sierra is still on the ship until Azure returns.) Natalia turned to Avice and Rhys. "Come on, now!" she said. Rhys sheathed his weapon, and ran out of the hole, joining the others on the ground. He groaned, and looked at the other four. "Is she always like this?" he asked. "Makes these kind of quick decisions without consulting anybody?"
"Yeah... she is..." Jared said as he ran past Rhys and down to the boat. "When I get back I am SO falling asleep" He thought to himself, his head throbbing.
He snorted, and followed them, running quickly. Natalia jumped down onto the canvas almost silently, and ran after her crew to the ship. "And you let her be your captain?" Natalia followed him, listening to the conversation without Rhys knowing. "Seems pretty stupid to me," he said. "I mean, she's right about the whole, 'that-guy-won't-do-anything-without-a-price' thing, but really, haven't you ever thought of rebelling?" Natalia raised an amused eyebrow, and kept listening. "Plus, I don't imagine she has much experience. I mean, how old is she.. 19?" "24, actually," Natalia said smoothly, pulling alongside him. "But I've been sailing since I was about 17." Rhys flushed with embarrassment, and Natalia looked back at the prison as she ran. "Count your blessings, Mr. Plinx. I would be perfectly content to turn you over to the authorities, if need be. Unfortunately, the Norlune Penitentiary is not the best place for discreet conversation. " (I suppose I didn't leave much room to respond, eh? I'll add more.) Ellia landed in the rowboat first. She instantly started to wind the pulley and she cleared the seats for the others to get on. The guard had recovered, and they were now chasing the crew, screaming 'don't let him get away!' And ' but they are getting away!' Perhaps Norlure didn't have the best law-enforcement. Everyone loaded into the rowboat, and with a small grunt, Ellia released the rope, and the rowboat sped back toward the ship. There was a moment of silence, and then there was a unfamiliar chuckle. Natalia was sitting in the back, laughing, an event almost never heard of before. "Oh God," she said, between small giggles. "That was the most fun I've had in ages. Is everyone alright?"
Avice watched as the guards and the peaceful town drew further away. A grin crept onto her face as she turned around. "I'm good."
"They were rather rubbish at their job, weren't they?" she said, turning back to look. They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. She looked back looking suddenly very serious. "Although, I don't imagine we'll be welcome back into Norlure anytime soon," she said somberly. "There go your summer plans, eh?" Rhys leaned forward, his hands folded. "So, I assume you didn't just break me out of prison for no reason?" he began. "Ah, about that," Natalia said. "Excuse me, Mr. Plinx, but I must talk to my crew for a moment. I do owe you all an apology. I jumped into action without consulting anyone, and you had to deal with it. I'm sorry about that." She seemed sincere, looking at them each individually with her large, pale blue eyes. Then, she nodded and cleared her throat. "Alright. Anyway, Mr. Plinx -" "Call me Rhys, Ms...?" "Burgundy, but you may call me Captain, or Ma'am." Natalia said, "So.. Rhys. Apparently, you know something that we need. Do you know anything about the lost island of Fawelore?" He sat back and frowned. "I do." "Does your information include a location?" He bit his lip. "It does." "Then we will talk when we get back to the ship," she said, settling back into her seat. * * * When they returned to the ship, Jack looked at the extra member of the party, and looked at the rest of the crew in confusion. "Why is he here?" he asked.
Avice spoke with a wide grin. "He is- or was, a filthy criminal! We broke him out to find out what we need to." She bopped Ryhs on the nose teasingly.
Rhys looked taken aback, and blinked twice. "O..kay," he said, his brow wrinkling. "Rhys..?" Natalia called, her serious demeanor back. "Can we please meet in my quarters?" He stood up in compliance and followed. Jack turned to Avice in utter confusion. "A criminal? What did he do?"
He frowned. "That seems... reckless. How was Norlure in general?" He walked to the rowboat, and began removing the perishable supplies. * * * Natalia and Rhys talked for a while. He was hesitant, Natalia found, but he gave the location in exchange for a small amount of the treasure. After a moment, Natalia agreed. They stood up, shook hands, and left the quarters. She stood up, next to the wheel, gave the person on duty some orders, and then went down to the general quarters to show Rhys where he'd be living.
Avice shrugged, following him to help. "It was strange. Eerily quiet and peaceful. The last part was fun, though. We got to fight some prison guards and explode a wall."
Jack groaned. "I can't believe I missed that," he said sadly. "I haven't fought in weeks! I almost missed the ship we raided a couple days back completely; I only was there in time to get the cargo." He began to stack the cloth containers of travel rations on the shelf built on the side of the ship. "Do you think we can trust this Rhys guy?"
Avice thought about it for a moment. "Maybe. He seems somewhat trustworthy, but then again he was behind bars. I would keep my guard up, though. What do you think?"
"If he crosses us, we'll throw him overboard." Cobiah said, curtly. "And he is indebted to us, would be awfully rude to turn on us."
