Well, Pinkie and Vern team up to do food stuff! One of those "be true to yourself" episodes and pretty well executed. Had a feeling they would butt heads at some point. Can't think of any tidbits so I think it was a good lesson of not being a slave to trends and to stand out. Overall: 7/10
I like that they are going back to slice of life episodes, even on a map quest one. Two best Mane Six ponies make for a great episode, also I really like Saffron's design.
Oh yay! A Pinkie and Rairty episode! I also liked Saffron's look, very pretty. The song was good too. I wonder where the map will lead them next. I really want to see Twilight and Applejack have their own map quest and maybe a new place to explore. Overall, I'd give it a 9/10.
Thoughts below in spoilers as per the norm. Spoiler Wow. I'll be completely honest with you... I was a little worried about this one. For the most part, 'map' episodes tend to not be that great. However, that certainly wasn't the case this time. Maybe Pinkie and Rarity really was the best pair? Either way I quite liked this one. Especially the restaurant ponies. Even the song was relatively decent. Very good and catchy. That's saying something coming from me when I don't tend to like songs. Not surprisingly Pinkie and Rarity were doing the wrong jobs at first but fixed it at the end. That food critic though... clearly a jerk. Glad to see Rarity put them in their place. I really don't know how to put this one. I just really liked it. It's hard for me to describe what I like about certain episodes I guess. The entire episode just gelled really well I guess? I'm really not good at this... It seemed like the moral was 'don't always believe ratings from so called 'critics' you should always try to see what others think of it first or just give it a chance and try it yourself. You never know, you may like it.' Or something like that I guess. Either way I liked that too. An unexpected surprisingly decent map episode.
I liked this one, because it dealt with one of my biggest complaints about "fine dining:" the assumption that class is somehow synonymous with quality. Some of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in were absolute dives. As for the episode itself, I liked how Pinkie and Rarity interacted, but I do think Applejack would have been better suited for Pinkie's part. 9/10 - I wonder if we'll be seeing Zesty Gourmand in the future... Rarity and Pinkie did sorta humiliate her and destroy her reputation.
Liked this one. Simple and straight forward, but sometimes less is more (well, in terms of an episode, not necessarily flavor.) Nothing revolutionary but I couldn't find any fault with it. Sometimes it's nice to just have a simple episode with a good simple message.
