One may as well eat plain tortillas right from the package. I miss having a gas stove, as it proved to be far superior to an electric one for cooking tortillas.
Holy crap I had the best friggin burrito EVER today. Pork and black bean, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Got it off a food truck run by some Mexican guys, which further proves my assertion that legal, integrated, English-speaking immigrants have a lot to offer our country.
I have an idea. Why don't we just make it easier to become a U.S. citizen? That way, less people feel the need to enter illegally.
That's a hard one, dude. On the one hand, legal immigrants, when properly assimilated, are good for the country. They work, they pay taxes, and many of them start businesses of their own. They also bring their cultural traditions with them, which Americans promptly filter, mix, and bastardize into their own. Like chili spaghetti. Italian and Mexican influences, all-American food. Hell, two of the most brilliant men in history, Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein, were immigrants. On the other hand, if we make it easier for immigrants to get in, we risk bringing in too many. Too many for all to find jobs, and too many for our infrastructure to handle. As it is, we try to bring in the best and the brightest. Make the process easy, and we risk bringing in, well, the worst and the dumbest. And quite frankly, I get enough of the worst and the dumbest from the illegals at work. I know I shouldn't use personal experiences to judge an entire group but OH MY GOD I JUST WANT TO STRANGLE THEM ALL SOMETIMES. They're making Mexicans look bad and they need to be ashamed of themselves, not that any of them have the basic intellect and civility needed to feel shame.
Legal immigration is alright by me but the thing is, making it easier would be like giving the ones who come in with malicious intent the proverbial Disney E ticket to our country. I'm of the mind that our border patrol should be beefed up too.
Most of the ones here illegally already work, pay taxes, etc. They should be given unconditional amnesty as well. This would do wonders to bring the practice of blackmailing these people into accepting rock bottom wages (sometimes below minimum wage) and staying unorganized to a screeching halt.
I thought we already F****** agreed no more political talk in this thread. As civil as most try to keep things someone going to say something wrong and things go south fast.
