IT'S JUST A PRANK, BRO(NY)! When the ponies of Ponyville finally hang on to the end of their tethers after falling prey to Rainbow Dash's countless pranks, they decide to give her a taste of her own medicine... So, thoughts? I thought it was quite enjoyable, and some scenes were genuinely creepy at times. Overall, 7/10
This episode was truly enjoyable and The Mysterious Mare Do Well is a far cry from it. The moral wasn't forced. And you know what? I think the denizens of Ponyville were very justified in giving Rainbow Dash a taste of her own medicine. The episode was one of the funnest to watch in a long time and feels like it could've come straight out of the first couple of seasons. Of course people are complaining about the opening scene and I get where they're coming from, but I've said this before and I'm going to say it again: the moment a character loses their flaws is the moment I write them off as uninteresting. I am probably a minority, but I loved this one and it's one of the better Rainbow Dash episodes of the last few seasons. 9/10. And this was instant meme fuel: "I see what you did there."
TASTE THE RAINBOW!!!!! This was a good episode. Kind of reminded me of The Walking Dead. The ending was predictable, but still enjoyed it overall. I'd give it a 9.5/10. Now I want rainbow cookies. Cooookiiiieeeeesss.....
I've only got 3 words for this one: BEST PRANK EVER!!!!!! But seriously, I rarely worry prior to episodes and I was hoping this wasn't gonna just be MMDW: The Sequel. Similar but I like how when Dashie said the moral out loud, it clicked. You may say, "But they TOLD her at the beginning!" My response, when has Dashie ever learned by being told anything? She's every bit as hard-headed as AJ (one of the things I love about her) and doesn't really get something until she experiences it. Being somewhat (or a lot) like that myself, I can appreciate the moral that much more. Couldn't find any tidbits so another solid episode. THE PONY APOCALYPSE IS NIGH!!! Overall: 7/10!!!
I honestly didn't find this one as predictable as people are making it out to be. "Synopsis: When Rainbow Dash's pranking gets out of hand, the ponies decide to give her a taste of her own medicine – zom-pony style!" ...Okay, with a synopsis like that, I understand why the twist was obvious to a lot of people, but watching the episode blind, I didn't find it obvious until close to the reveal. Besides, I got a laugh out of the pranks and especially Rainbow Dash's line at the end. So yeah, I'm also not jumping the bandwagon, I'm "cool", everyone caresno one cares, etc..
That was fun, but probably middling as far as this season goes. I liked the Season One feel to it at parts, even if that meant that Dash's characterisation was back to "RD is a jerk" - which is a shame after being really well-written in "Stranger than Fan Fiction" and "Newbie Dash". Otherwise the animation was great, as everybody has already said. The background music was ideally suited to the episode it as well. I actually thought Dash was going to run straight over Granny Smith with the cart, so obviously the genre switch was convincing enough to get me into that mindset!
I think it's more of her just getting on a roll and it being hard for her to stop herself without the others having to knock her down a few pegs. Been in that situation myself a time or two.
Thoughts below in spoilers, because this is how I do this now. Spoiler Wow. Honestly... this episode caught me off guard. I was legitimately concerned I wouldn't like it due to the 'zombie' thing. But that just wasn't the case. This was a pretty decent episode. Honestly... I actually thought some of Rainbow Dash's pranks were funny. But that's probably because they were done to others and weren't done to me. I can understand what the moral was for the most part. Celestia in a sea of scrolls!! That was hilarious. Rainbow Dash gets the wrong idea from what her friends were trying to tell her. Pinkie antics are best antics that make episodes fun. Especially when she jumped at the cookies and then wanted more 'joke cookies' when she was 'sick.' Sick Pinkie can only mean bad things... and... it was. So... the 'zombie' ponies. Honestly... they weren't so much 'zombie' ponies as they were 'obsessed with cookies zombie' ponies. When it started happening to Rainbow Dash's friends I was generally enjoying the episode. For some reason it was just funny to me (probably because I realized that they were faking it but that really didn't seem to make the episode bad for me) Just a lot of hilarity in this episode and it wasn't surprising with the conclusion that it taught Rainbow the lesson she was supposed to be learning and one final 'prank' to end it. This was actually a surprisingly fun episode. I quite enjoyed this one.
Thoughts in spoilers as always. Spoiler IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO! IT'S JUST A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT! IT'S A PRANK BRO, THE CAMERA IS RIGHT THERE! Mare-do-well rehash please try harder 3/10
Full disclosure: I didn't hate Mysterious Mare-Do-Well. Having said that, 28 Pranks Later should have been made first, if only because in this instance, Rainbow Dash was doing something genuinely unpleasant to the other ponies. Here, Dash didn't seem to realize or care that her pranks were genuinely not appreciated, even after originally being warned against pulling pranks against Fluttershy, but she does anyway. It is definitely more worthy of a town's worth of retribution than in MMDW. In MMDW, Rainbow Dash was genuinely heroic, and though she got herself an ego the size of Canterlot, it didn't take away from her deeds which the entire town agreed was worthy. This time, the retribution was indeed showing her that pranks may not always be taken as fun by the one pranked, instead of taking away from Rainbow Dash's accomplishments. Also, zombie ponies are fun.
