Hey, I'm getting this railgun error quite frequently recently... it makes browsing the site quite hard / annoying.... It may be related to times, it occures often from like 7am - ~2pm here (European time)
Cloudflare (and the Railgun service it provides) is handled by our web host, and is generally outside the scope of what we have control over. I've noticed the issue myself, but unfortunately all that can be done is to wait for it to go away.
Why not poke the web host about it? If they guarantee 99% uptime (which many webhosts do), then these regular downtimes are probably causing fewer uptime...
I've noticed a lot of this, too. More than a few times I've had to try five or six times to get a post to work. It's kinda annoying, really, and I'm concerned that it might end up driving newer members away if it turns into a regular thing.
Yeah, I'm getting that too. Sometimes, when I try to post something it just loads forever. Then I refresh the page and that error message comes up.
Not going to lie, at first I though it was just XenForo's "discouraged user" setting, but I doubt most of the other posters are on that list.
I didn't realize that was a thing. Not sure how I feel about that being a thing. Seems kinda underhanded.
I got this yesterday and it seemed like the site loaded slower than normal. Everything is fine today for me so far, but I think it's just a pinging issue with the main server is all. Nothing to get worked up about.
In retrospect, xenforo can't simulare railgun errors because it doesn't know that it's behind railgun, but I ran some tests to make sure that neither I nor my IP were discouraged. Hooray I guess?
Yes, we have the feature. We haven't used it because we no one has warrented it and we have the Probation user group instead. So, relax: we at Everypony will generally be upfront if you're acting like a complete tool. As for the original error, our server is generally running 24/7 so might have a few hiccups here and there, not to mention maintenance that could happen when our server techies think all is quiet. We're an international site so people will access the site at any time, running up the chance of encountering this screen. If you do encounter it, try asking for a Live version or wait a bit. Unless we're under attack or having maintenance done, the site should return soon.
I just tried to log in not too log ago and I got that error again. It seems the site stability has been compromised or it's not up to par. I wouldn't know, since i'm not techy. I'm just computer savvy. But I think there is a serious issue going on with the main sever allowing this site to remain functional. Not to mention during the times when the site is up, if the next error happens, it'll load super slow and eventually load the Railgun Error page. This is not as infrequent as it should be.
Ironically, I clicked this thread to look for updates on what's up and it railgun'd me. I think our servers are just having troubles. Bloody amazing.
