I procrastinate. I go on forums. I watch unrelated Youtube videos. I freak out and cry. I start breaking down on the inside. I clean stuff.
Programming is my greatest source of stress. When you're in charge of maintaining mission critical systems like payment processing, have to manage and coordinate the other devs, design the architecture of our apps, all while having to do data science on the data in that system... Things get hectic pretty quickly.
Depends on what I'm stressing about. Either I freak out, I struggle to sleep, or I get upset. Then there are times when I have to sit and think about things too...
Good thing the most critical thing I've written is handling passwords and permissioun systems (and ofc making sure that the websites don't have internal server error all over etc.) ^.^
Just to minorly troll~ (on my own thread, yes) !!!TWENTY-ONE PILOTS!!! TWENTY-ONE PILOTS TWENTY-ONE PILOTS TWENTY-ONE PILOTS TWENTY-ONE PILOTS Twenty-One Pilots
When I'm stressed, I tend to go on side rumbles with myself in my bedroom while listening to music. It really helps to get the anger out.
If I'm at home, I usually just pick up a guitar and play something fast and aggressive. If I'm not at home, I usually just hum or listen to some music. If I forget to do that, I usually spout off a lot of 4-letter words.
Ok Daddy. Clearly the best thing to do when you're stressed is to go and eat some schnitzel. Preferably from the Schnitzel Truck.
Smoking cigars is incredibly relaxing when one is stressed out, but I quit smoking them years ago. Sometimes simply taking deep breaths helps, and I have used alcohol to deal with stress while at home (I don't drink to the point of getting drunk; I don't want something pleasurable turning into its opposite). Going on a long walk or plinking at a gun range also help immensely with taking something stressful off of my mind. Fortunately, I haven't dealt with any severe stress since I quit my old job earlier this year. My new job is a bit disappointing, as it isn't as technical in nature as I was hoping, but it's a union job with far better pay and benefits (not to mention stable hours) than my previous job. Hopefully I can get promoted in the not-too-distant future.
For about 6 years now, I've had a terrible tendency to chew on the sides of my mouth on the inside, which makes it scarred for at least two weeks and makes eating (and living in general lol) really painful. D: I also like to blast hard music loudly, write code, and make Doom maps when I'm stressed.
