I know in blog I said I wouldn't post about this here, but it's gotten too hard to ignore. WHAT THE *squee!* ARE YOU DOING YOUTUBE!!! Youtube Heroes? Are you *squee!*ing serious? Do you seriously think people will use this within the confines of mere adhering of the TOS? All this does is make it easier for people like trolls and SJWs to have their way on Youtube. The negatives outweigh the positives for this 'new program'.

Now I do know there will be a few people who would use this right, but that will only a few out of the many who will more likely, than not, use that power to have things THEIR way. This isn't fixing the problem, this is Youtube throwing staff permissions into the four winds for anyone to snatch up and take a hold of.

Also the name of the program. 'Youtube Heroes'. Are you serious with me right now? IDK if you could name something like this more stupidly!! People are still kinda pissed with the Youtube Red being a thing, why would you think this *squee!* will fly?!!

Okay. Before I go into a meltdown, a lot of people have cooled off from the TOS thing. It's manageable. I think a lot of reason for the freak out is that Youtube just didn't notify us sooner with it was all. Stuff happens. I'll admit I was a little in freakout territory myself.

But I'm sorry, there is no excuse for this Youtube Heroes business.

Everything; you just said is 100% True [ Besides the excuse part at the end ], however, I would like to add some of my own point as well.

    Youtube....
Is owned by a company, that knows that Youtube is the lowest profitable thing; they own and unless it affects Google's PR, they won't do nothing about it. This is one reason, no human beings run the site, The other being that the amount of people; you would need to read every report sent in every single day and sort out every single copyright dispute.....

    Would basically be Business Suicide,

even for a rich company. Something like 4 Billion, a year doesn't justify the cost, Google's a business, they want money..... However, recently they have been receiving very bad PR at Google's end, because of big issues like the abuse of the DMCA Takedowns, False Flagging and a horrible, BLOODY Horrible, Automated Subtitle system for Foreign users.....

So how does Google, fix this issue and avoid all the bad PR at their end for a the service; that makes them, the least amount of money in the year.

By having the users, ride shotgun! While they think about their obviously more profitable creations/Investments..

However, to expect every single person to "just do the right thing... Because....Well..... It's the right thing!" is just silly....
People are going to abuse this like everything else.

Now, I take a natural stance on this, Google's a company and they want to make money, hiring thousands of people to moderate, even at minimum wage, would be too expensive and burn all the profitable of the website; at least on Google's end, anyway [BTW, the email a employee thing. Yeah, if you expect them to respond..... Don't! Youtube will probably only hire at most maybe around 100 people to do this job and spread them across the entire world, these employees will likely be encourage to give bigger Youtubers; more priority and will likely ignore smaller creators complaints or send back a copy and paste message, just with a new [Probably fake] name at the bottom. ]

But to do this to a dedicated community of fans, who may have loved Youtube since they were young and feed their families off it is also wrong.

Yet again, Google owes you; NOTHING! If anything, you owe them for this wonderful service.

But is it really fair to just let Users abuse the system, just so Google can be lazy in finding solutions to the problems.
    THEY CREATED?

I don't truly know all the answers, what is certain is I don't really truly care, however, I do find topics like this important to talk about at times, which is why I'm making this comment. I hope my rambling could have been helpful in someway and thanks for reading!

Fair enough. I'm not going to pretend that this is honestly isn't a corporate move, because it is. But giving the common people of Youtube that are daily users the power of staff officials essentially, is a foolish move. While in business standpoint it has benefits, in a reality standpoint it has dire consequences. When people receive power of this magnitude, their first thoughts are how they can use it to benefit them. Using the power to have things THEIR way.

This is the problem, the disconnected between Profitability and what people want. I've heard of many channels on Youtube, who lost their loyal viewers for bigger numbers in the past, usually, due to a change in content; that tries to beat the system, like top 10s.

The same can be said here, Youtube needs to make profits to survive, but to do so, it has to put it's fans at risk.

    Which bloody sucks!
But Google owns Youtube and in turn will always make the decision best for them.
It's a sad honest truth about business.....

    Business is never Charity work.

Edit: People have all right to be upset, I'm upset with this change, but unless, Youtube sees this PR worse than the PR; they were already receiving, this shall come into effect.

I honestly think that something like this could have worked, but this is a very lazy and counterproductive way to do it. Rather than seeking out volunteers and vetting them, which would result in a slow implementation process and not seeing a desirable effect until the relatively distant future, they're all like, "Everyone wins the lottery," and pat themselves on the back because it looks like they're "fixing" something now.

This is probably going to be messy, if I know my fellow human beings well enough. If the punishment for wrongdoing were high enough (like, losing the privilege to do anything, and potentially have a "villain" stigma where anyone can see what kind of person you are), I can see this sorting itself out, but I don't know that much about this thing that I won't even dignify naming, because whoever came up with it and allowed it needs to be picked up by a short bus and sent back to pre-K.
