First of all, kinda rude, Xan. Second of all, she made a really nice forum. Its lack of activity really has nothing to do with anything she did or didn't do though.
@Xaniith No, don't you dare apologize when you're right. CG was doomed from the beginning for three reasons; lack of awareness, lack of interest, and a waning fandom. There aren't as many MLP fans as there once were, and most of them already have preferred forums. That leaves you with very small group of people who would even be interested in joining the site. Of those people, almost none would be able to find the site on their own, because (as far as I know) it was only advertised to people on EP and a few other places. @Rockout E. Stringer I get that you're trying to be nice and all, but people need to hear criticisms of failed ventures, or they'll never understand why they failed. No, it's not nice. But it's necessary. People can't learn from mistakes if they don't realize that they made mistakes.
A forum that still exists isn't technically a failure though. Not yet at least. Jewels is obviously frustrated so throwing salt in the wound with a blanket statement isn't exactly what I'd call "constructive criticism" whether the statement is true or not. That's basically calling a body of hard work a pile of crap.
The intent isn't to throw salt in the wound, the intent is to point out the problems so they can be fixed.
Then it should be done with details and possibly even suggestions. Not "It was essentially a lost cause from the start anyway" with no attempt at justification. I know you'll agree when I say you should back up your statements. There's the difference between saying, "The car won't run" and saying, "The car needs a new alternator."
In this case, I'm not entirely sure that the problem can be fixed. EP is probably the smallest of the original crop of MLP fansites still up and running, and anyone can see that we're only barely hanging on. The fandom just isn't as big as used to be, and what few forums remain are the ones that have been around since the beginning. Even the recently-established EqD forum isn't as active as EP was in its heyday, and EqD is the brony site. Honestly, I agree with Xan. CG was doomed from the start, because the target audience just isn't there anymore.
