Midnight began to wiggle in mid air "I'm testing him" she whined. She wanted Raven as her teacher instead, "CAN'T RAVEN BE MY TEACHER, I WANT RAVEN TO TEACH ME HOW TO LEVITATE" she screamed across the bar, she continued having her tantrum while she was being levitated in the air.

 

"YESSSSSSSSSSSSS YOU CANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN" she screamed back. She threw a menu at Raven slapping her in the face. "I DON'T WANT MR GRUMPY HOOVES AS MY TEACHER"

 

Midnight blinked at Raven, then vomited in Ravens general direction. This what happens when you keep a filly levitated for too long.

 

(Cleans the mess, and puts Time right again.) Even though some of the abilities I had have been given to others, I still have some pull. Don't mess with Time please. It's weak enough.

 

Don't worry, I cleaned up the mess. And... I put Time flowing at normal pace.

 

With the Time Convergence? Couldn't do it, not strong enough.

 

Blackout sighed. "Fine. You want to see what a Dark Mage can do?"
He looked at Silver, who shrugged.
It was permission enough for the unicorn.

Blackout's eyes glowed, and a dark cloud shot from his horn, filling the room with a darkness that seemed to devour the light itself.
Nopony could see anything, as not a single photon of light could penetrate the veil of darkness that was Blackout's namesake spell.

The more sinister effect soon became apparent, as every magic user in the room would have felt their powers greatly diminish.
For the less powerful among them, the effect would be a complete shutdown of their magical ability. The more powerful, like Architect, would experience tremendous restriction to their magic, to the point that even a simple spell would require intense concentration and effort.

He held the cloud for a full minute, then dispelled it.

(Basically, the spell blinds everyone, and blocks the magic of most magic-users. Powerful magic users take a massive hit to their ability, and are restricted to simple spells.
It's an extremely OP combat spell, which is why I never use it.)

 

*A letter appears addressed to Architect, so only he could read it, from The Council. "That was interesting, if that happens again, contact Darkwalker, who has something in progress for you. -Council"*
(After burning the letter with golden flame) Huh, interesting. Don't try that on me again. I'm still trying to piece together the architecture of this World again, bit hard to do with magic blocking abilities, no offense. That Convergence and Shadow Incursion really messed up your World. If I'm correct Etheran is trying to put things together again too.

 

"Just a demonstration," Blackout replied. "She did question my qualifications."
He turned to Midnight. "So you want to learn levitation, huh? That'd be a good first lesson, unless you still think I'm underqualified."

As the room darkened, Midnight blinked, she felt odd. Being a Shadow pony she was adapted to low light levels, though as it reached Pitch black, she binked, revealing her own species uniqueness. She absorbed the energy from the spell and took in more of its strength, her body then used it to increase her growth rate. After the spell ended Midnight was slighter larger, and taller. Not quite a fully grown adolescent, but no longer a filly. She glanced at Blackout "I think you're over qualified. Don't do that spell ever again in my presence, Dark magic affects my species in odd ways" she informed him, she had lost her wobbly filly voice. Though it was friendly, not like her previous evil adult form.

"I think we should start with your laws, and such. I believe you teaching me Levitation is now obsolete due to my advancement in that field. Then I might explain to you about my kind and our general development" she remarked, she levitated a piece of candy over to herself and began nibbling on it, emphasizing her earlier point.

 

"Equestria functions on two simple principles," Blackout explained, as he demonstrated gathering shadow energy under his body and using it to lift himself into the air.
"The first is that we all must live in harmony with each other. Unicorn, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies, all living and working together peacefully.
There was a time when this wasn't the case, and ponykind was nearly destroyed as a result of fighting between the tribes. It is this peaceful coexistence that makes us strong. Equestrian magic is created by the friendship, love, and harmony of the ponies who live here. Simply put, in Equestria, friendship is magic."

He cut the levitation spell, and dropped lightly to the floor.
"The second thing you must understand is that Equestria is ruled and protected by our princesses. It is through their power, wisdom and love that we have prospered for over one thousand years, and it is why we will prosper for a thousand more.
We love our princesses, because they have earned our love. We trust them, because they have earned our trust. And we obey them, because they have earned our obedience."

 

Silver shrugged. "To be perfectly honest, nopony is really sure how Bat Ponies came to join our society. Some believe that Princess Luna created the race by magically transforming Pegasi warriors. Others believe that the Bats were already in Equestria long before the three tribes came here, and are the true natives of the land. Still others believe that Bat Ponies were created by the interbreeding of dragons and ponies."
He paused.
"All are plausible, to an extent. It is likely that we will never know for certain."

Midnight blinked, it seemed simple enough. "What if one of the princesses, does something the other doesn't agree with, then you've just a problem surely?" she asked. She blinked, "So what if you have some sort of problem, could you go to the Princess to sort it out?" she asked with a frown. Seemed to be a busy job for a Princess.

"So where do Shadow Ponies fit into all the three races, or do we just not co-exist with the other pony kinds?" she asked. She then glanced at Raven, bat ponies were rather strange, "I've got no clue with bat ponies, or crystal ponies for that matter, sheesh. There are too many pony races" she complained.
