She held up an arm and ran her fingers through nearby vines of ivy. "We call it the Vale," she said. "It is our home in this place." She cocked her head, and narrowed her eyes in thought. "We haven't had another one of you appear in the maze in quite a while, and now we have two in the same day. It is very odd." She regarded Koona with a trained eye; she seemed to understand the questions running through Koona's head, and began to try to answer them. "You are an experiment, my dear, like me and six other people here. As far as we can tell, you have heightened intelligence and an inability to feel fear. You are also able to fight with more ease than most." One was hiding something, but Koona could not tell what. Her face was too stiff, too devoid of emotion. She was keeping a poker face, and she was keeping it too well. "We were each found in the Maze by the Impura." She gestured to the people around her, Amelia included. "I was found first, and they accepted me into their tribe. I rose through their ranks and became their leader. Then we started to find the others." A small smile appeared on her face, and she chuckled lightly. "At first we could not remember our names. Do not worry, you will not need to change your name to Eight. But up until Four, we had no recollection of our past lives whatsoever. Whoever put us here has gotten lazy, it seems."
Sawyer was confused from the sounds outside and hops out from her window,safely landing on her feet. "Hey,whats going on?" She walked over to the 'gate' of vines and finds the pair of lab experiments. "OOH! NEW FRIENDS!" She dashes after them and wraps the two up in a bear hug. "EEEEEEEE!"
(Pepper Mint, Terrwynn is not in this scene yet. There would only be one newcomer, and that is Koona. Also, the Vale doesn't really have windows. It's a very crude habitat. Think more along the lines of mud huts, and shacks.)
"Is there any cause as to why we are here?" Koona asked, once again looking around (On another note, do you think we could continue the Pirates RP without Starlight? Just curious.)
(I was thinking about it. His character kind of has a major role, but I'm sure we could work our way around it.) "Well, as I say, it seems that we are some experiment." One said, pushing aside a golden lock. "We settled here because it seems to be the only place that the Taedum will not follow us." She looked up suddenly at Koona. "You do not know about the Taedum, They are hunters out there." She gestured behind Koona at the wilderness she had just come from. "They do not attack new recruits such as yourself, which explains why you were not attacked on the pedestal. However, now that you are here, they will be after you." She shrugged slightly, a movement that seemed to move throughout her whole body. "They're after all of us. They cannot seem to enter the Vale. They are tall beings, almost eight feet tall, and they can camouflage to match the environment around them, but their natural form is a body of a material almost resembling obsidian, except they are an ashy grey color. They have no face, but that does not seem to deter their senses. Especially hearing. They can hear very well."
((I wish i was notified about that earlier.) Sawyer, who didn't really seem to care about Koona's introduction to the Vale,decided to bomb her with questions. "So what can you remember about yourself? Do you know where your from? Do you remember anything from like a past life or something?" Sawyer continued,smiling widely with stars in her eyes as she bounced up and down with pent up energy.
(@Pepper Mint Just make sure to read every post. It may seem tedious, but there is info in there, including the stuff that you missed.. I'm going to say that Sawyer has already been here, so she is number five. That means that there is one person who is newer than you besides from Terrwynn and Sawyer, so you are still relatively new, but you have maybe a little more experience. Does that work?) One looked at Sawyer with a mixture of annoyance and affection. She cocked her head slightly. "Sawyer, maybe we should give her a moment. I'm sure this is a lot to take in." She turned back to Koona, a slight smile playing on her lips. "This is Sawyer. She's number five. She's... very excited to meet you."
(yeah, that sounds good.) Sawyer stopped what she was doing and took a step back,before continuing to jump with a smile that was a little too wide. "HHHIIIII! HI! I'M SAWYER! I'M NUMBER FIVE! DID I SAY HI YET!?" Sawyer loved meeting new people. the first few days she arrived at the Vale, she spent them getting to know every one,and mainly spent her time talking to One.
Koona was taken aback by the sudden excitement of Sawyer. She gave a nod of greeting, before turning back to One with a questioning look. "What now?"
"Well..." she said at length. "We normally give new recruits a tour, and allow them to meet everyone. You are an extraordinary case, as you and one other person arrived at the same time. I don't think we need to look into that just yet, though." She turned to Sawyer and Amelia. "Would you two be able to give Ms. Koona the tour?"
"WOULD I!?" she stopped bouncing and gave a small cough. "oh,but OF COURSE,ma'dam." she said in an overly fancy british voice.
Amelia only nodded, keeping her gaze down, and avoiding any eye contact with One. "Excellent," she said, turning back to Koona. "You will see your living quarters, and you will hopefully become acquainted with the Mess Hall, the Barracks, and then finally you will meet the Others." She stepped back, and glanced at Sawyer before she left. "Take it easy on her, Sawyer," she said. "You were new once too. Try to remember what that was like." With that, she turned and left. The instant that One was out of sight, the bystanders returned to their murmuring, almost as if the woman had never been there in the first place.
"C'mon! I'll show you around! Lets go Amelia!" she did a hop,skip,and a jump towards the small mud hut.
