The wheels began turning in Twilight's head. "You... you're kidding, right?" The creature snorted derisively. "What would I gain from lying about my heritage, even to a filthy rodent like you?" "Alright then," replied Twilight firmly, "Explain." "Oh, but I think you already know the answer," he retorted, "However, I shall indulge you anyway. "Many millions of years ago, my ancestors... beings you refer to by the name of 'dinosaurs', roamed this planet, much like your kind. They knew the meteor was coming, so they built great ships to travel across the stars, away from this doomed rock. And those who were unworthy were left behind, stranded and condemned to die in our wake. "Once they found a new home, they evolved and thrived until they became us, and set out to conquer the heavens. And what better place to start than the planet where it all began? "Oh, but where are my manners," he added with a vile smirk, "it would be a disservice to withhold the name of your future ruler. I am General Tyrans."
Crimson merely shook his head at the story of the general. While it might have sounded somewhat believable to him, he started to chuckle to himself "What's so funny?" Tyrants looked at the human threateningly. The teenager merely smirked as he pointed to himself with his thumb. "You seem to underestimate the human race, lizardbreath. We aren't exactly like the others you've encountered. You see, during those millions of years of evolution, us humans have evolved at s rapid pace within the past 10,000 years." Tyans grumbled. "Are you threatening me, rat?" Crimson merely started to chuckle. "Maybe..."
"We are the product of over 250 million Earth years of evolution!" said Tyrans indignantly, "We were harvesting supernovae for power before your ancestors came down from the trees! We've heard this drivel before from many others, who all believed that rapid technological advancement somehow equated to meaning something! Well, let me tell you something, scum... Nothing makes your species special! You spent the last two million years learning to walk on your hind legs, while we spread across the face of the planet in a matter of hundreds of millennia! Just what do you have that we don't?!" "Self-regulated body temperature," quipped Sunset under her breath, though she realized that the beast was right. Though humanity had come so far in the last 500 years alone, they never held a candle to what these ex-dinosaurs had achieved in the last 65 million years.
"Well...." Crimson remained his smirk as despite the fact he was put in his place. "Why don't you show me what makes your species superior?" He said before suddenly walking towards the reptilian general. Tyrans grumped before chuckling. "Your friend here wants to be first casualty against our master race. How tragic...." Twilight raised an eyebrow. "How is that tragic?" Tyrans started to approach Crimson, smiling. "Remember child, suicide is the coward way out... Meanwhile, with both his fists clenched and staring down his opponent, Crimson had an idea...
"So you're a coward, then?" taunted Rainbow Dash, "Because you're not dealing with just some ordinary humans anymore." "AND WHAT MAKES YOU THINK SO?!" boomed Tyrans, greatly annoyed now. "Freak accident with a space rock," said Pinkie Pie. Tyrans roared in rage. "YOU KNOW WHAT, IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME!! I'LL JUST FINISH YOU NOW... AND I'M STARTING WITH THAT ONE!!" he declared, pointing at Crimson.
Crimson stood before an angered Tyrans as he army soon gathered to watch their leader face down what seemed to be an insignificant human rodent. The teenage human stood there with a smirk, while the reptilian general raised his fists at Crimson. "Ordinary humans....now that's a laughable yet empty threat. I'd love to learn your names as well as various other things but I'm afraid that I must eliminate you now. But first, I'm teaching this punk SOME DISCIPLINE!" The General suddenly swung his fists, taking Crimson off-guard and striking him hard in the face and chest. For a moment, he took a beating as the reptilian general suddenly started to launch a beat-down against the human, who seemed to persist at being far more durable then standard humans but lacking everything else. Crimson blocked occasionally, but it was very weak. Unfortunately for Tyrans, he didn't realize he was being led into a trap... "Something about your human spirit sickens me, mammal. Your race disgusts the cosmos." He then said before swinging a hard right swing into Crimson's gut, causing a gush of blood to escape from his mouth. "Do you really think that you can defeat me and the superior race with such little power?" Tyrans launched one more powerful swing towards Crimson, aiming at this to become a death-blow. But he didn't realize how close he was. For the moment that the reptilians fist neared him, Crimson suddenly sprung to life and smashed him directly in the rib-cage that shattered all of his alien armor upon contact, taking the alien by suprise and shock before being thrown back several meters. It seemed that Crimson intended to look weak for him to get close enough. "What! Wh-what's with this speed!?" Tyrans said in shock before finding a very smug Crimson, who merely looked up at his opponent while dripping in blood. "While you might think of your average human to be weak, all of us are far from ordinary" Crimson taunted the alien. "Although my target range is small, I can throw punches faster then the diving speed of a Peregrine Falcon at over 300km/h." He then continued to taunt the opponent by gesturing for him to come and attack them. "I've never actually measured it, but the closer I get to an opponent, the faster and more powerful my punches can become. And...at my possible best, my punches would be comparable to low-intensity nuclear weapons impacting your skin at somewhere beyond the speed of light." "So....General" Crimson said as he looked his friends with a smile before back at his opponent. "The Human Race does have something that you don't. We have heroes"
Tyrans merely shook his head. "It matters not," he said, "I will have my vengeance... but it must wait." The group was confused. "My vengeance must be earned in an evenly matched bout of one-to-one combat," said Tyrans, "which means I must prepare. In my current condition, it will take me one Earth month before I'm ready. Victory feels unfulfilling if the battle isn't a fair fight... a concept I believe isn't foreign to you." He pressed a button on his shattered armor. "Until we meet again. You have one month." And like that, he vanished into thin air.
Crimson grumbled under his breath and tried to charge at what was now an empty space, but was soon restrained by Twilight as a hand reached onto his shoulder. Twilight's speed must have been incredible to cover at least a couple hundred meters distance between him and the rest of the group. Until it was evident that she was starting to get a grip on her powers and that she teleported. "You heard him Crim. We will deal with him in a month" Crimson soon sighed. "I'd rather end this threat now, but I guess we don't have a choice..." Winter looked at the group im awe as the surviving soldiers of the military came out of hiding. Soon, loud cheers were sounded for the group of teenagers. Today was the first day that Planet Earth has defenders, heroes, protectors...
---- "Um, are you sure about this, Rarity?" asked Fluttershy, "I mean, it's not like we can keep our identities a secret at this point..." "Good point, dear," Rarity replied, "But we are superheroes, correct? Without costumes, it just feels incomplete."
"She's got a point there, shy" Applejack proudly boasted. "A hero's gonna have something to look super in. Rarity should know all about that" Rarity smiled at her comment. "Excellent point, Applejack. Although, I'd rather avoid spandex at all costs. It might look like those heroes mighe enjoy them, but trust me.....yuck."
"So, leather and Kevlar, then?" asked Twilight. "Well, I've worked with Kevlar before on a few occasions," said Rarity, "so those materials should be no problem..." While this was going on, Circuit was eating yogurt. However, he heard a loud screeching noise, almost like metal scraping on concrete. He held up the spoon, noticing that it was bending. "...whoa," he said.
Crimson was busy next to him at the table, flicking a rubber bouncy ball from wall to wall as the precision never missed his mark. As Circuit are his yogurt, he'd bounced the ball at least over a thousand times continuously as he noticed the spoon. "Looks like Telekinesis" Crimson said with a friendly smile. "Congrats, you've won the lucky dip in superpowers"
Rarity sniffed the air. "Do I smell... chocolate.?" she asked. Suddenly, they heard a scream from outside. "GET ME DOWN FROM HERE!" The group ran outside to see Twilight floating in mid-air, while what looked like cotton candy clouds rained chocolate from above.
Sunset looked at Twilight, noticing how she seemed to have been stuck in mid-air. She didn't know how to get down back to the ground, so hopefully she knew how to fix this. During her childhood, unicorns in Equestria who didn't figure out how to end their levitation spells got them stuck like Twi. "Just calm down" Sunset said. "It will help you"
"You do realize," replied Twilight, "that telling someone to calm down USUALLY HAS THE OPPOSITE EFFECT, RIGHT, SUNSET?!" "Yes..." sighed Sunset, "but it was worth a shot."
Suddenly, Twilight just dropped towards the ground, suddenly screaming before merely levitating several inches above the ground. She didn't touch the ground, but the strange cotton-candy cloud started to soak her clothes with chocolate rain. "Great..." Twilight grumbled. "This is super..."
Rarity went to Crim and handed him his costume. It looked as a mixture of black and white and looked closer to a pair of normal clothing with Kevlar reinforced in his shoulders. Some parts of his costume looked questionable, as Crimson raised an eyebrow at her. "You realise I need to punch people, right?" Crimson said. "I'd look more like a 19th century swordsman with this on." Rarity tried to wave it off. "I think you'd look fine darling! I...must admit I didn't think of that originally, but the colours do compliment your complexion and hair." Crimson thought about it before nodding. "Well...I shouldn't argue with your cosmetic genius, Rarity. Last thing we need right now is to argue about fashion."
"Me next!" said Rainbow Dash excitedly as she approached Rarity. "Good timing, dear, I was just about to design your costume!" replied Rarity. "Now, your costume will still have Kevlar, but since your powers are electricity-based, I felt that latex would be more approriate due to rubber's insulative properties in regards to electricity, keeping you safe in the event of your powers backfiring or being turned against you." "Though it helps that I like latex," Rainbow Dash replied. "Perfect!" Once Rarity was done with the costume; a silver latex tracksuit, streaked with blue and black lightning bolts in a way reminiscent of a tiger's stripes, and lined with Kevlar, Rainbow Dash donned it. "I must say, you do look quite goregous in that outfit, Rainbow Dash," said Rarity. "Thanks," said Rainbow Dash with a sly chuckle, admiring her new costume in the mirror while making athletic poses.
As the others got their costumes, Crimson wore his around the room. While it suited him in terms of color, he didn't exactly find it as practical as much as Rainbow's was. He sat on the sofa, pouting at possible ideas for the coolest costume ever. Yet again, he knew nothing about fashion. "It's okay darling..." Rarity told him. "I'll redesign your costume eventually. I didn't think about the practical side of things..." Crimson sighed. "Thanks Rarity..."
