Being Muslim does make one a potential ISIS recruit, as the goal of the Islamic State is to turn the Middle East into a single Islamic nation under Sharia law. That means that they expect all Muslims to either support their goals or be branded an apostate or infidel. On a personal level, as most people here already know, I don't like Islam. I don't trust Muslims. I can't accept the idea that any good person would willingly follow the teachings of so evil a man as Muhammad was. So while I understand that they're not all bad people, I can't bring myself to defend them. As for the illegal immigrant crisis, I think you're underestimating how bad it is. There are believed to be over eleven million illegal immigrants in the United States. If even half of them are employed, that means there are over five and a half million jobs being held by people who have no right to work in this country. There are almost eight million unemployed citizens in the US, so replacing illegal workers with citizens won't fix everything, obviously. But it's a damn good start.
Well, that didn't last long. I'm in the camp that any non-white, Christian, straight males should be very, very scared of Trump's appointments for pretty much every office so far. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/politics/ct-trump-appointments-20161118-story.html
Being white does make one a potential KKK recruit, as the goal of the KKK is to turn the USA into an all-white nation under right-wing obscurantist law. That means they expect all whites to either support their goals or be branded a [censored] lover or an agent of the "International Jewry". A cursory glance at the Bible will show that Islam is essentially an offshoot of Christianity. Yet Christianity gets a free pass here, even though it also has a long record of atrocities being committed under its banner. Furthermore, perhaps you should tell this trite nonsense to a Kurd (this ethnic group is predominantly Muslim) that is actually doing something about ISIS. I would suggest doing some research on the concept of excess capacity to see what the real problem happens to be instead of resorting to hypocritical "letter of the law" appeals (sexual assault is illegal, but Trump continues to get a free pass) directed against non-white migrants. And then we have another double standard under US law, i.e. it is perfectly legal for a capitalist to move production into Mexico (in spite of not being a citizen of Mexico), yet it is illegal for poor, desperate Mexicans to seek work in the United States.
White is a skin color, not a religion. There's not one underlying belief that unites all whites. There is noting to unite them all under the KKK.
Really, stereotype much? that's as flawed as saying Yeah i hate black people because they gonna steal my car. fmlaofrh
Actually, it's not at all the same. Religion is a choice. And, quite frankly, it was rather *squee!*ty of you to leave out the important part of what I said.
You completely missed the point in my "fill in the blank" approach to reveal the fatuous nature of such brazen chicanery in the first place. And this is aside from the issue of Anti-Arab, Anti-Somali, etc. sentiment often going hand-in-hand with the method of painting all Muslims with the "terrorist brush". It's certainly most odd that Kurdish Muslims are typically secular and left-leaning in their political outlook. It just highlights the militant anti-intellectualism espoused by the most reactionary elements of Trump's support base. The rich irony in this situation is that these very same elements are acting as de facto recruiting sergeants for ISIS! The "important part" of what you have said has been so utterly discredited anyway. Your same method can be used to "prove" that any group is only worthy of scorn, suspicion, and such. Double standards are the order of the day under your method, whose ultimate purpose is to thinly veil the most rotten racial, ethnic, etc. prejudices. This is what the anti-Trump movement is fighting against tooth and nail!
Could say that about sexuality now though, don't want feminist jokes said about you, turn male. yeah but I'm following along with Wolf's logic, I hate black people because they nick my car.
Trump may not have caused people to be racist, but they certainly feel empowered by him. http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slat...the_united_states_since_donald_trump_was.html And if you don't like Slate, here's Time. http://time.com/4569129/racist-anti-semitic-incidents-donald-trump/
Scientific Fact: People are born black because genetics. Scientific Well-Founded Theory: People are born gay or transgender. Obvious Fact: Religion, unlike race, gender, or sexuality, is a CHOICE.
I will be sure to remind any Trump supporters who have been assaulted that supporting Trump is a choice.
Um, I'd be EXTREMELY careful what you say on this forum. It could lead to a ban......so, consider this a friendly heads up, I guess.... @MidnightShadow
Seriously. Discuss the topic, keep it nice between each other. Now some levity. And back to staying on topic. /Also, I had to. The Joe Biden memes are fantastic.
