Yeah, what sucks is that my posts and likes I've received went down with what was in that thread.....
Got an early Christmas check and took the PS4 plunge into the world of Skyrim!!! Meet Marina!!! What happened to it?
What happened to it was a server bug and a mistake on my part, I tried to fix RDs thread becasue it changed the first post also making it no longer RDs thread I deleted teh first post not realizing it would delete the entire thread. Though we have found out how to fix this now so if it pops up in the future we know how to fix it.
Seriously, this is getting out of hand. Server errors, mod permissions for random members, and Schnitzeldouche is still running wild. If there's a problem, y'all need to let us know. I don't need my bank account being drained because some hacker used EP to get into my computer.
@Ridley Wolf Please calm down about it, You are acting like we aren't doing anything. Do you think we are just sitting here twiddling our thumbs watching as things unfold? If you want us to be fully transparent then fine I will explain everything I know. The company Brivium that make Xenforo addons were recently caught out on being untrustworthy and its a high possibility that because we have used their products that this is how schnitzel gained access to the forum. They have also remotely dumped sql data which is why we told users to change their passwords. The recent forum merging thing is just a datbase error and is being looked into and wont allow a user to get into your computer. If you changed your password as instructed then you should be fine. If further issues come up relating to the database we will most likely be moving server and lastly I am always on the discord server so if there is ever an issue you can contact me there for near instant replies unless I am sleeping. ALso just to hopefully calm everyone down, this "schnitzel" guy isnt as harmful as they once were since they do not have access to the database and were only causing trouble because they had access to users passwords including staff. as long as everyone has changed their password things should move along smoothly.
I'm glad you've shared it with us, but it would perhaps be best to make it an announcement or something?
That's really all I was asking for. An explanation of what what happening, why it it was happening, and what could be affected. We've all seen the stories of worst case scenarios. Viruses planted in the sites themselves, personal information farmed out to spammers and scammers, that sort of thing. I just wanted a bit of assurance that it wasn't that serious.
You returned not too long after I resolved an issue with my car causing a lean air/fuel mixture. Does a dirty Mass Airflow sensor (MAF) interfere with posting as well?
