Alpha stood perfectly still, she seemed unaffected by the ship shaking. "I'm surprised how none of you have gotten use to this. It's pretty easy to handle."
"Perhaps it is easy for your bionic stomach," said Gwen, closing her eyes and leaning her head back against the wall, "but for us, it's a little different."
"How about you two keep the squabbling to a zero, okay?" Landon said, not moving an inch. "Alpha. Check the radar to see if we're clear of anything. And Gwen, I can see you're not okay with rough traveling. I suggest you head to your quarters. You're relieved of duty for the rest of today."
Gwen paused, noting in her head that if the Captain wanted her to take the day off every time she got motion sickness, she doubted she would be much use to the team. She weighed her options; she didn't want to seem like a lazy, incapable worker, and she could keep going. However, she was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and besides, the captain seemed to be in a rather terse mood anyway. She decided that protesting would probably do more harm than good, so she stood up, and nodded. "Thanks, Captain. Let me know if I can do anything." She headed off to her quarters. She rubbed a temple with one hand, her other arm crossed just under her breast, and muttered to herself as she walked. "One times six is six, two times six is twelve, three times six is eighteen." She proceeded until she got to six times 82, at which point she came to her room. She had her six times tables memorized all the way to six times 545, (3,270) but rarely did she get up to this number, and if she did, she took the time to learn the next ones in the sequence and add them to her memory bank. She opened her door heavily, taking a moment to test the soil of her plants hanging just inside. Gwen missed that about Earth. She missed the green, and she missed the rain. Luckily, there were ways to keep plants on the ship quite successfully, but it wasn't quite the same. Her mint was doing very well with the new lamp she had created, and that made her happy, but her ferns weren't enjoying the added heat. She frowned, and hung them in a different corner of her room, an area more filled with shadows.
"Pfft. No fair, why does she always get the rest of the day off? We use hyper speed literally every..." She paused to calculate the amount of times the ship has gone into hyper speed. "approximately every 4 hours or so." She checked the Radar, which she was wirelessly connected to. she was wirelessly connected to multiple things on the ship. "Yeah, we're clear. there are a few asteroids but we won't be coming any where near them for the time being."
Ginger fell asleep in her seat, she hadn't been able to sleep well the night before because of excitement.
Landon entered the co-ordinates to Xerdan and leaned back in is chair. "Pardon my words, Alpha, but Miss Gwendolin's motion sickness during takeoff and travel make her a... liability when it comes to emergencies or anything of the sort." He paused and cleared his throat. "She's a fine trooper on the ground... the best the best can get, but up here... I can't take any chances. It's best that she stays to herself during these periods of time. I apologize if you feel that she receives special treatment because of her placement on the ship or my personal opinion about her, but it's for the best. I hope you understand." Landon kept his eyes on a computer screen. It was a live feed of the cargo bay and the Laharan treasure being transported. Something about it made him feel uneasy, but he put the feeling aside.
She sighs. "Fine...it's kind of unfair but fine..." She flops into the chair that Gwyn had took up. she didn't bother to buckle in. She brushed her wirey hair out of her face.
(@Eluuna @Pepper Mint Let's get this back on track!) Landon sighed at Ginger's mumbling and turned his head to her. "AHEM!" He said, loudly. "Miss Smith! Wake up!... if you would."
Ginger felt awful, her face went deep cherry, and she looked down, avoiding his gaze. "Sorry Sir. I'll be more careful Sir."
Landon was a little on edge. Something was off about the Laharans. They seemed too... welcoming. From the moment they landed on Lahari they were greeted and taken straight to their city. He took another look at the cargo hold camera and stared at the cargo. He then noticed a light fading in and out underneath the box. What was that for?...
