"I don't think business is for me. I doubt people would want a pirate running the largest corporation in the world, anyway." Cobiah said.
Jade chuckled, but shrugged. "Who says they have to know?" She leaned her head into her hand and reflected on it. "I mean, I don't know you very well, but I agree with you, in all seriousness. I can't imagine you as a businessman. It seems so... small, if that makes sense. Your world would be extremely limited - especially after this job."
Avice shifted, glancing at him for a moment. "Yes, you're right. But I'm being honest, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else." She let out a deep sigh, resting her chin on her palm.
Avice raised her eyebrows, and played with her hair. "This conversation got a little deep." She rubbed an eye turning around to view the deck, still leaning on the rail.
"Hah. Maybe a little bit. But, there's nothing wrong with that, right?" Avice inspected her hand, running her fingers through her hair.
He covered his mouth with his hand, as he considered. His fingers were callused, but long and thin. They were made to do precise work, but they were capable of enduring labor, made tough from the years spent on the ship. "I suppose not," he finally said. "I guess it just depends on the situation." He paused, but then smiled. "I'll stop now, don't worry. No more scrutiny for you."
Avice laughed nervously, tugging at a lock of hair. "Oh, good." She was in thought again. "I thought I would have to jump over to escape it."
"What is it with you and hopping overboard?" he asked, shaking his head good naturedly. "First sirens, and now vulnerability. What's next?"
"Good! Hopefully now you can sea how bad my puns are. They're known to make people a bit crabby." Avice winked.
Avice leaned in closer to him. "You look like you need some kelp there. Or do you look in pain on porpoise?"
"Stop! Stop. Stop!" he said in mock agony. One hand covered his ear, and the other hand batted Avice's face away. "I'm a good person, I don't deserve this!"
(I don't know you very well, Stuffy, but I feel like you actually are this person in real life.) "Uggghhhhhh," he groaned, covering his head and simply surrendering to his fate.
