They stood in the crow's nest. It had a diameter of about six feet, with a bench lining the circumference. There were small crates pushed under the seat full of various useful items. The wind blew by and the hem of Jack shirt rustled as he stared out onto the sunkissed horizon. He looked down at Avice, and smiled. "I'm going to go fix the ladder, okay?"
He slipped down the ladder, attaching the toolbox to his belt. He tied himself to the ladder. and began working. "If I were to fall right now," he said thoughtfully up to Avice. "I would probably die."
"There goes my plans," he said, shaking his head as he looked up at her. He put the dagger between his teeth as he measured out some rope. There was a snapped rope on the side of the ladder, and it just needed to be reconnected.
(I'll be back in two hours! I gotta do some work.) He wrapped his arm around the ladder as he worked, tying complicated knots that connected the two lines. He grunted as he lost his balance, but managed to swing himself back into place. When he finally finished, he climbed back up and sat next to Avice. Pulling out his spyglass, he handed it to Avice. "Want to look?"
(Alright! See you then!) Avice held the spyglass, inspected it for a moment, then looked through it. She was silent for a few seconds, then smirked. "Now I'm a true pirate." She mumbled.
( are you sure? Because we can wait! Jade and Cobiah could have a major chat fest. ) Jack's face appeared on the other end smiling into the spyglass. The spyglass twisted his face into a strange, flattened version of himself. "See anything?"

Avice laughed, still looking through the spyglass before putting it down. "Nope. Take a look." She handed it to him.
He took the spyglass and rolled it between his fingers. Holding it up to his eye, he dramatically gasped. "Avice, look!" he said. " there's been a flood!" He pointed out into the water that covered the horizon for eternity.
(Well, we could wrap up the two's conversation right now, then jump ahead.) "Aye. I don't particularly like the idea of sitting behind a desk all day. Have you seen the headquarters? It feels so caged."
Jack snickered. "Well, at least you're prepared for anything. Even a flood on the ocean." *** "I haven't,"Jade said. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and looked expectantly at Cobiah. "What's it like?"
