Avice looked up at him, frowning. Suddenly, she smacked snow in his face and hair. She stood up quickly, laughing at him.
"I don't know. Maybe get myself a nice place..." He lied. His intentions were very different. He turned his head at Jack and Avice, watching them. "How childish..." He said.
He sputtered, the snow chilling his nose. "That... that is cheating, Rohesia!" *** "Oh, c'mon, Jared! Let them have fun. You were like that, once. I'm sure of it. Maybe." Ellia rolled her eyes at him.
"Ha! Fighting dirty is how to win!" She crossed her arms triumphantly, smirking. "Extra points if you catch a cold."
He exaggerated a sneeze and threw some loose snow at her, grinning. "I can't believe you." *** Ellia nudged him, a playful smile on her face. "So I guess snow angels is out then?"
"Jeez, Jared. What will you do with all your money if not enjoy yourself?" Ellia asked. *** Jack opened his mouth to speak, and then paused, squinting over the water. "Do you see that?" he asked, pointing out over the water. It was hard to tell, but it looked like tentacles were whirling over the surface.
(Uh oh...) Avice turned and looked, searching for something. She slowly and steadily moved towards the edge. "What is... that?"
(God damn it Jared.) Ellia sighed. "You do those trailing off sentences pretty frequently, you know that?" *** Jack squinted and sighed. "I don't know, but I think we're going into it."
"Remember how there's those monsters that are trying to get into the area? I think that's them," Jack said grimly.
(Come on... I was obviously talking about the moment when they would find the treasure... The happiness of being rich... you believe me... right? ) Jared overheard Jack say something about the cannons. He suddenly turned to look at Jack. "Did you just suggest we ready the cannons? What for?"
