Nightshade nodded. "Yeah, she's orange. And she's even faster than me." **************************************************************************** "Most do," Rain replied, giggling as the screams of pain and the smell of pepper reached them.
"Think I can meet this Orange Fast?" Maya asked. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Navaja chuckled. "When time came to take on my first lone contract, seventeen other assassins recommended I try Blueblood. I didn't take it, obviously, a royal kill may not look fantastic for our guild."
"I don't know him personally, but I've heard stories. They say he's a rude, self-centered, egotistical, ignorant, preening bastard." She laughed. "You remember a few years ago, when the papers printed that picture of him with a broken nose? Shady did that." *********************************************************************************************************** Nightshade nodded. "She'll be here soon. I believe she'll have one of the Element bearers with her, too. Loyalty."
Navaja laughed. "Seriously? There is no way." ~~~~~~~~~~ "Rainbow?" Maya asked. "We talked to her once. Maybe she'd be down to smoke up after we stop the apocalypse."
Before Raven could tackle him, he jumped to the side and quickly grabbed her from behind, engaging in a suplex of sorts.
Raven took the suplex, dropping on her back with a pained grunt, flipping over, and finally ending up face-first in the ground.
Rain chuckled. "Dead serious. It's why she left the Guard. Blueblood actually demanded her execution, but her dad... uh... convinced him to let it go." The were approaching the bar, the area surrounding which had become a sea of tents and siege weaponry. *********************************************************************************************** Nightshade shrugged. "I dunno. Honestly, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy --Laughter and Kindness-- seem more the type for that. I've watched Rainbow Dash practice a few times. I can't imagine that mare ever willingly slowing down."
Navaja leaned out the window, looking around in amazement. "This... just how large is this thing we're killing?" ~~~~~~~~~~ Maya shrugged. "We all could. Honestly, it can be pretty good to slow up once in a blue moon."
"Shady was the first to see it. She said it was over a mile long. And she's not the type to exaggerate." She shook her head. "And it's going to bring those things with it." ************************************************************************************ Nightshade nodded. "True. I know I could use a vacation when this is over." ********************************************************************************* Silver had given up trying to stop the royal sisters' sparring, and had resigned himself to offering occasional tips and advice as they dueled.
Navaja groaned. "Great. Well, at least we have an army this time." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Blackened and Raven are beating the hell out of each other," Dusty said, looking out at them from the test. "Prolly just a little sparring," Maya said casually, launching the sword up with her flank and catching it in her hoof. "So, drain that snake with the swords, then we can actually put it down? How hard'll the skin be to to pierce after that?"
The carriage pulled up in front of the bar, and Rain stepped out and thanked the driver. "Now let's go find whoever it is we're looking for." ***************************************************************** Silver answer Maya's question. "We are expecting the hide to be anywhere from ten to thirty feet thick. Likely diamond hard. We we will be using specially made ballista bolts to pierce it. If that fails, we may need to risk sending a team inside, after the deific energy is removed. But that is not an ideal option."
*As the two step out of the carriage, the symbol for Ma'at appears in front of them and fades as a shield forms around them, due to a residual effect Rep put into the initial summoning.* Rep: Silver, who will hold onto this energy from Apophis, who will be able to do so without being corrupted by it, and will they be able to stop anything else from getting at it?
Silver nodded. "Reasonable concerns. After this is over, I intend to take these weapons, and the energy within, and throw them into a distant star. I will not take the chance of anything escaping."
Rep: (starts to talk but seems to choke before the Council speaks through him) We will oversee this occur. And if we may, force the star out of your Timeline and Universe and into the Void between Universes?
"If that is possible, then it seems ideal. But I will carry the blades as far as the star. They are my responsibility."
Navaja hopped out of the carriage and looked around. "Can you see a tiny, blue alicorn anywhere?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Raven squirmed from his grasp and hopped hack to her hooves. "Did you just go for a pin?"
