"Not just my ears," Silver replied. "Your ears, too. Any bat can do it, with training." ************************************************************************************ "Everything I've learned about Apophis so far suggests that he's a universal threat. I can destroy a planet in a few days. It's not hard." She sighed. "I'm glad to have more power around, but we all have to face facts. Apophis is beyond any of us. Me, my dad, Lord Discord, even the Princesses... we're nothing compared to one of the Old Gods. Even with everything we plan to throw at him, there's no guarantee we'll win this. Hell, it's not even likely that we will."
"Can you teach me?" Raven asked. ~~~~~~~ Dusty nodded. "I understand that feeling, Nightshade. I do. I've felt it before. But it's not hopeless."
Rep: Universal huh? The Council usually handles Universal, but still, they've usually kept their potential hidden, I know it, but....they might have trouble. Anyways Mado's wish was one that rewrote the exact laws of her Universe, Timelines and Alternate Worlds within it were all affected by a single wish. So she's pretty powerful as a result of her wish. Especially considering that wish, and some other factors, was enough to cause her to transcend her Universe's Cycles. But we cannot count on a wish like that for this.
Silver nodded. "I can teach you the basics. Close your eyes." ****************************************************************** "We have the swords," Nightshade said. "That's our best... really our ONLY hope of even getting a shot at him. We're basically talking about taking away his godhood. And I do believe it'll work. But what then? He'll still be the most powerful thing any of us have ever fought." She sighed. "I lost three friends and my grandmare over there. Cannonball probably won't survive the week. And those were just the minions. Do you understand how many ponies are going to die tomorrow?"
"I'm not stupid," Dusty responded. "I do understand. And I'm fully prepared to die protecting Equestria." "We will likely need to kill him from the inside," Azrael said, walking up to the group with shots for the adults. "Ever read the book, The Gears of War? Where the soldiers have to enter the giant worm, and cut out its heart?" ~~~~~~~~ Raven nodded, closing her eyes.
"I read the first few chapters," Nightshade answered. "Couldn't get into it. The control scheme was awful..." She shook her head. "We're assuming that we can even survive inside him. For all we know, he's full of lava or acid or something." ************************************************************************************************************* "Good." He walked around her a few times, then stopped directly behind her. "Where am I?"
Dusty sighed, taking and downing his shot. "Good luck breaking his skin with anything short of a nuclear bomb... By Heaven Queen's mane. That's it. If we could trick him into eating one or two of those bombs..." ~~~~~~~~~ "You're right behind me," Raven answered. "Your hooves are loud."
"Blast him from the inside." She nodded. "Simple. But maybe effective. Immortality is all he's ever know. He's never had need to be afraid of anything before." ************************************************************************************* "Indeed. Now let us try something a little bit more difficult." He pulled a small timer from his bag. "Fifteen seconds. When this goes off, tell me where I am." He set the timer and, as silently as he could, moved around to her left side, thirty feet away. The timer dinged, and he stood still, breathing purposefully a bit harder than usual.
"So he won't expect to be harmed..." Azrael smiled. "It's genius. He'll surely still be arrogant enough." ~~~~~~~~ "Twenty.... Thirty feet on my left?" Asmo sniffed the air. "Damn, Bat. You learn quick."
"Very good." He gathered up a pile of small stones and placed them at her hooves, then took off and began flying lazy circles around her, twenty feet in the air. "Now, hit me with those stones." ***************************************************** "Nothing more arrogant than a god," Nightshade answered with a snarl.
Raven's ear twitched, hearing his wings cutting through the wind. She picked up one of the stones and tossed it in his general direction. "Can I throw stuff at you, too?" Asmo asked. ~~~~~~ Dusty nodded. "Indeed. Imagine his final thoughts as the bombs tear apart his organs."
The stone sailed past, just in front of Silver's nose. "Close! Try again." He glanced down at Asmo. "Only if you do so blind." ******************************************************** Nightshade raised an eyebrow. "Uh... 'Ouch, my organs?'"
Azrael chuckled. It was clear that he'd had drinks inside. "'Zu'u unslaad! Zu'u nis oblaan!' Something along those lines." ~~~~~~~~~ Asmo snarled. "I am blind, ass****." Raven hurled a stone directly at Silver.
Silver shook his head, catching the stone before it hit him. "Excellent! Right on target." He turned back to Asmo. "No, you are not. You simply choose not to use your eyes."
Raven squeaked. "Awesome!" Asmo huffed, opening one of his eyes on the ground. "This takes effort to hold open."
Rep: Well. It depends on a variety of factors. One key point being, this. *The Council vanished and Rep rose into the air with 15 Shining Stars orbiting him, if you looked beyond the miasma of raw energy, closely, you would see that they were Objects such as a Pen, small Scythe, and other various tools. * Rep: (descending to the ground before speaking, Objects having vanished.) Ah. That's better. (Snaps his fingers and a visible pulse of power rushes towards the North.) *The ship immediately begins to collapse in on itself, forming a micro Black Hole that, due to the Council's spell, begins pulling immense levels of energy from Apophis and crushing more of his army due to sheer gravitational pull, before it quickly disperses due to Hawking Radiation. As soon as the Black Hole faded a bolt of energy, that which had been siphoned off, shot from the North back to Rep. All of this could be seen from the future battlefield as a spectacular flash of light.*
He then swung his hoof, connecting it with hers. "Wow, you're strong..." he grunted, pushing against her hoof.
